What is one simple thing that I can do right now that will help improve my environment and health?

Hey I am new to isopod keeping and I am planning first setup. I want to keep it very simple and source all items and the isopods from nature, as I am not sure yet if it's a hobby I want to do longterm. But seeing as I am getting it all from nature how do I go about cleaning them? I don't really want any critters other than the isopods in my home 🙊 Also can I get soil from nature as well? And how woulds I clean that?
