We bought Veeam several months ago, and the way it quickly backs up VM's is super! I cant say enough about how quickly it works, or how easily you can restore with it. We're using 9.5 and they don't support Unity CIFS now but we're told they will in version 10. We're also told that they have a backup file option, so 'just use that until you upgrade to 10.'

Only problem is the file backup solution is a bolt-on devoid of features and redundancy that you see in the VM part of the app.

It cant backup open files!! What good is it?

So we're stuck using Backup exec for our CIFS until version 10. Does anyone else have similar problem or solution?

The SCCM guy in my dept is saying he's suddenly blocked from installing Adobe Acro Pro with a MST file because of SEP14. I have not made any changes recently to our policies and SCCM guys isn't able to give me any logging info on this.

Has anyone else had a similar issue recently?

Guys, I have a DAG IP question I hope you can help with.

I had a DAG of 3 2010 Exchange servers, with 2 CAS-HT servers in production. That DAG is on the 192.168.0.0 network. And it has a DAG01 IP address.

I added another mail server and CAS-HT server at my DR site that is on the 172.16.0.0 network. But I don't understand how to add another DatabaseAvailabilityGroupIpAddress. Im assuming it should be in DAG01? How do I go about creating a DAG IP for this other site?

I was doing some testing on Ubuntu and Kubuntu 17.04 on Friday and I noticed that Squirrelmail isn't in the repositories anymore. I searched for anything about it as far as discussions or announcements this past weekend without luck. It seems like a poor decision to remove it just because it hasn't been updated in years. Dang! Whats the go-to webmail replacement? Horde or Roundcube?

Im standing up a new CAS-HT server, something Ive never done before. SSL is disabled on our other CAS-HT servers so I want to disable it on this new one. We're using Exchange 2010 SP3 rollup 15. I searched and found this TechNet page:

on how to disable SSL by turning it off in IIS but its not working. If I check the web services URL's on the new CAS theyre still https and so is the autodiscover URL. And when I look at the EMC Server configuration>Client Access>new cas server Exchange ActiveSync properties it shows SSL as True.

What am I missing?

We acquired company XYZ, and its in the contract that they be able to send email as XYZ.com. We've migrated them into Exchange 2010 domain ABC.com. They're logging into ABC.com. I changed their 'set as reply' address to XYZ.com and its works fine. But once a day they get prompted to enter credentials for XYZ.com, and we have to set their 'set as reply' back to ABC.com temporarily and recreate their mail profile. If we don't change the 'set as reply' back to ABC.com the Outlook 2016 auto discover tried to create their profile as ZYX.com.

Our email retention and destruction policy was written by someone outside IT and it states that we:

Archive all email after two years except for one folder named, lets say Exception. Delete these archived emails after three years. Again except for the Exception folder.

It doesn't look like there's a way in Exchange 2010 to archive the whole mailbox Except for an oddball folder. So does anyone know of a third party app that would do this? The funny thing is the IT leadership would rather buy some app to do this rather than go back to senior management and say the retention and destruction policy isn't possible.

So someone outside IT created an email retention plan for my Company that states:

Sent and Deleted items are deleted after 90 days. That's working.

Inbox items only are archived after two years and deleted after three. Thats the root of the Inbox, not user-created subfolders.

I cant figure out how to make this effect the Inbox root only. From what Ive read its not possible. To be able to 'move to archive' it has to be set to 'All other folders in the mailbox' or you have to use personal tags. Is there no way to archive just the Inbox root?

I just bought Xplane 9 a few days ago, 10 looks great but is very slow on my laptop. Id like a couple Boeing's with full 3D cockpits, but they all only seem to be compatible for 10.

Using Exchange 2010 Ive disabled OWA at the mailbox level. But that doesnt disable the login prompt.

Is there a way to disable OWA globally?
