I want to hear everyone’s experience who had to navigate getting HSV while they were in college.

I have no outbreaks which makes me forget that I have HSV, the only instance when I’m reminded is when people around me frequently talk about how much they’re scared of getting it and constantly joking about people with herpes.

It makes me feel like a monster and I really need to hear similar experiences to better navigate this situation

I ended up getting both OHSV1 and GHSV1 from a partner back in January.
My confidence has gone from 100 to 0 since then, I feel like I’m damaged goods as a woman.
I’m still with the same man and find it impossible to end things with him.
It’s like I’m clinging to the only instance where I’ll still be appreciated as a woman, I know it sounds weird but I feel like as I’m with him I’m still the HSV free version of myself.
I feel trapped, and I’ll give myself the grace to be dramatic enough and say I’m traumatized as well, I’m constantly expecting the worst from him.
I’m aware I have my whole life ahead of me but mentally I’ve already checked out at 20

Hi everyone
I got diagnosed with HSV1 both in my genital and oral areas in January.
My first outbreak was absolute hell, couldn’t speak or walk for 2 weeks with the amount of pain I wouldn’t wish even to my worst enemy.
Since then I haven’t had an outbreak on my genitals, I’ve had an outbreak on my bottom lip 3 times since the first outbreak, all of them in the same exact spot, only difference is, the only symptoms of the outbreak I get is redness and swelling, if i think about it too much it ends up creating an ulcer deep under the skin you can only see the white, it’s never open however. Only questionable part here is if I ignore it the whole redness and swelling goes down by the end

How do you tell that your outbreak has ended? I refrain from kissing my partner as I had an outbreak on my lip. There’s no more tingling, pain, open ulcers anymore but the wound is in the healing phase it looks like i busted my lip. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now. How can i know when it’s fine for me to kiss him?

This month i got a coldsore on my lip, extremely painful, it has been healing for 2 weeks now, i thought i was done but now I’m feeling another coldsore forming. What’s the reason of having outbreaks back to back? What could be the factors causing it so i can prevent getting a third one too
