Was about to post the synopsis, but realised, as I have been using it to also recap the last book, that it contains spoilers. Thought that was a brilliant idea, but it might not be 😅

The story is a mix of LitRPG fantasy and Sci-Fi set in an epic space opera setting of the Milky Way. If you are looking for hard science, it's not too realistic, but I think I managed a good enough mix. There is plenty of action to be found, ship building and upgrading, all the goodies that comes with LitRPG, and lots of world building.

Blurb

Earth stands dead, with only a few survivors trying to escape.

Follow a broken man’s journey in search of freedom as he tries to find a way to generate enough power to escape, not just from Earth, but from the remnants of human colonies now in control of the solar system, who would see him as nothing more than a machine.

Armed with a spaceship he built himself and an advanced AI at his side, he sets out into the unknown.

It won't take him long to discover that the universe is far from what he expected. The emptiness he envisioned is nowhere to be found, and the easy life of leisure he dreamed of is nowhere to be seen. Instead, danger and opportunities are around e

It's driving me nuts not remembering the name.

What I remember is the mc because Isekai I don't remember how. A bit later his founds a road and adventures. At some point he needs to fight a slime and some other fights happen as well. I also believe there was tension between the mc and adventurers.

Now I am not sure if it's the same story or not. I think I remember he starting to make a home outside a town. But that might be from something else. That's even less information but I would be interested in that as well. 😄

I have had a really hard time finding stories like this. Where, it's somewhat more realistic in the science department. Space is big, and I miss that fact in so many stories I read. Where are the epic space fights that still use somewhat realistic weapons. Yet I also love fantasy where people have magic, can rip apart steel and shrug off bullets, but I don't want it to ruin the space opera setting. Nothing seemed to fit. Perhaps I have high standards, I will admit that. Then what else can I do but write it myself?

So, that's exactly what I did, building a setting around what I was looking for and ended up with a story named In Space With a Junkyard Ship that's now a web novel on RoyalRoad.

The Eternal Training Ground is a dungeon that continues to grow at a rapid pace, along with the city that has grown into a nation under the rule of Ace. Many now head to this location to seek riches, strength, or simply to escape their current lives. As both ETG and Ace grow in power and influence, more eyes turn to their corner of the world, wanting what they have.

I just had someone leave me a 1 star review for the story being in the first person. Now I completely understand that a lot of people don't like that. But why read it if it's not what you enjoy.

Perhaps this was another case of hate reading. I have experience that before a few times. The worse case was a person who started complaining about every story direction and straight out calling it a horrible story.

Yet they continued to read for 300+ chapters. Not only that but actually buy my Patreon and read all advanced chapters while still complaining in comments. Like why do people do this?

Also why do people leave comments in like chapter 3 telling you that you should change a major aspec

Is personal criticisms a proper reason to demand a writer change a story. Because a lot of people seem to think so. I could understand if it's universally hated like game of thrones season 8, but if it's only a small yet vocal minority does the writer really need to make changes he doesn't like or risk really bad reviews.
