Lately, when I try to charge my phone, it won't indicate it's plugged in. I've tried many cable and chargers. If left overnight, it somehow charges to around 40%

Is there any software reset that might fix that?

I have cricket insurance. Is it likely that my phone will be replaced under insurance, if they can't get it to charge?

This phone as been decent, including my hotspot. Should I consider the 2026 model, or what?

Any replies appreciated.

This laptop was bought off ebay a year ago or so, and looks mint and works perfectly except for this:

My laptop keyboard keys, when pressed, feel spongy and don't return to unpressed height evenly. The right side of the keyboard is most affected, with the backspace key staying down the longest. Oddly I guess, keys don't stick down long enough to cause multiple key presses thank goodness. I know I have not spilled anything on the board too.

So, following a Lenovo service video, I tried to remove the keyboard as directed:

  • Use firmware to disable internal battery

  • Remove left, center, and right buttons above the trackpoint

  • Unscrew those exposed tiny captive silver screws.

  • Using

My problem: Choosing the AP "McDonalds Free WIFI" using the desktop applet in the bottom right, the connection "succeeds" with the message "Connected". At this point, sometimes that's all that happens, and other times I get the captive portal page, where I click "OK" and it hangs. In either case, I never get a working connection.

Using other access points, such as xfinitywifi, phone hotspot, or home internet, all work as expected.

In McD, I tried going to http://www.neverssl.com in Chrome but the portal page never launched.

My Android phone has no issue with McD AP.

For reference, my Chromebook:

  • Acer Chromebook Spin 713

  • OS version 139.0.7258.172

Any help really appreciated.

I tried to reach a mundane Linux wiki page and got an error like "bad gateway". Is that tmobile filtering, or more likely just a unrelated problem with the page?

I know for sure that AT&T McD AP's do filter similar technical pages.

Got the hardware today, and so far, like it.

Thanks.

The manual says that:

  1. Do not use any other USB connection cables except the supplied on.
  2. Do not use any other AC adaptors except the supplied one.
  3. The AC adaptor (supplied) and USB connection cable (supplied) are for this camera only. Do not use them on other devices.

I'm surprised that other USB power supplies aren't acceptable, and even other cables.

Could someone please clarify the situation?

Thanks from this new G95 user.

When I use Organizer to select a series of photos and try to add them to an album, it returns "We can't do that until you have some items in the batch!"

Notes:

  • The bottom file dialog says 27 selected so I know there are some in the batch.

  • I tested this incorrect behaviour in both Edge and Firefox.

This functionality is pretty important as I uploaded about 350 images without specifying the album.

Any help appreciated.

When I right click Discover I get no option to unpin it. When I do the same for Dolphin and Chromium, I get the dialog to unpin them. I have already uninstalled Discover since Arch users are advised against Discover usage. I'm on KDE Plasma 6.3.5 and up to date otherwise.

Any tips for URL references appreciated, and good day.

First, I'm on keepassxc 2.7.9 on Arch Linux running Firefox 134.0.2 and the KP addon version 1.9.6 on an up to date system.

Problem: I can not get my KP userid and password to fill into old.reddit.com's Email or User name, and Password fields. In fact, in those fields, there's no KP indicator they're "recognized" I guess.

The above is true even though I have an entry in my database for Username and URL. The URL is exactly what I am trying to log into.

For a long time, KP and old.reddit.com worked fine, so I'm unsure when this failure started.

Also, KP seems to work fine for other accounts, such as amazon.com in Firefox, and gmail in Chromium.

I hope I've included enough info for someo

Greetings,

My goal is to create an Arch Linux guest that boots under UEFI. For years, I would choose Q35/UEFI and the install would start, and finish as expected. This was the exact process I used on Arch Linux and I get no error there. I am certain this problem did not exist on Fedora 40, and started on Fedora 41.

The error I get when Tiano loads is: No bootable option on device found.

How I install from virt-manager: File|new|local|I select the ISO image|Set memory and cpu values| Step 4 defaults|Customize|Set Q35 to UEFI|Begin installation| errors occur immediately

ISO I am booting: archlinux-2024.11.01-x86_64.iso, and I've tried other Arch ISO's and all error out the same way.

I'm a Firefox user, almost entirely in Linux. While the Play Store has Firefox, and it runs fine, what I miss is KeeppassXC, available as an AppImage. But would that work?

Result: Downloaded the appimage from KeepPassxc site, changed permissions to execute, and from the terminal, executed it ($ ./KeePassXC-2.7.9-x86_64.AppImage) and it ran. Then, opened my password database saved in ChromeOS, and life was good! Gives me another option, and one to share with others in my life.

Thank you ChromeOS.

Greetings,

I sucessfully implemented UKI in my systemd-booting system (no Secure Boot) which boots fine. Key configs in /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset and /etc/kernel/cmdline, all per wiki.

Upon booting, I notice that the systemd-boot menu appears to contain only the kernel in /boot/EFI/Linux/arch-linux.efi, which per the wiki seems to be the expected behavior:

(UKI) is a single executable which can be booted directly from UEFI firmware, or automatically sourced by boot loaders with little or no configuration.

My question:

Does the system completely ignore the loader and entries in /boot when UKI's have been configured?

Would it be practical to selectively get the boot to prese

All was fine till my phone was stolen. No issue, got a new one with same phone nbr and it's up and running. All apps there including BW.

The problem started when I tried to access amazon.com on the phone, and it asked for my pw. I started up the Android BW client and it asked for my yubico NFC key, but it could not be connected. So, no way to get amazon pw on the phone.

On my laptop using Firefox I go to vault.bitwarden.com and two factor and invalidate my only yubico two factor.

Next, I go to my phone, open the BW Android app, and try to login with my MPW. Entering that, it still asks for my yubico security key, which never worked I don't think.

Thinking my two factor must somehow

The front gate is closed now all the time. I walked in to see. There's a huge tree down that crushed the small dog section. I didn't see any other problem.

Anyone have any word when the park might reopen?

Tks

I'm a long time Firefox and reddit user, mostly on Linux.

My problem: Lately, when I try to use Firefox to login to reddit.com/login with my usual user name and password, the reddit dialog reports: Invalid username or password

When I attempt to login with Chromium, it lets me (with the same username and password).

I've tried starting Firefox, a) without addons running, b) from another user account, but it still won't let me login.

Anyone know how to get Firefox to work? Thank you.

My system running Arch Linux, Plasma, kernel : 6.8.7 on an Intel Thinkpad T480:

Firefox: 125.0.1

Chromium: 124.0.6367.60

I had read recently there's a way to configure the system so that the ring buffer retains all lines EG is not cleared or truncated, in the current session. IIRC, I read that it's automatically cleared at some stage in the boot process, but that clearance can be turned off.

Anyone know to configure it?

I searched online for the answer and viewed the dmesg man page.

Thanks.
