Hey I’m trying to play a ranked tank game but there must only be a dozen or so people logged in so I keep missing the next game. Can we get a few more people or is it really this dead?

Can we get a best-of-two with one draft, where teams swap drafts? Even 2-0 stomps would be interesting to watch.

Hey Dota, I think it would be pretty cool if you merged picks and bans. That is, at the end of the draft, teams have 10 heroes to assemble a team with. Bans are the 10 unused picks. Could have more strategies and stuff.

With Runic Dome, this downside of this item becomes an upside, as you can tell if the enemy is attacking.

With Runic Pyramid, you don't actually play the card. That would stop it from working.

Posting this so high-mmr peeps can tell me what's wrong with the idea.

Storm Spirit has a stun, a slow, 2 nukes and, at level 6, 2 blink daggers.

If you remove his ability to right-click without overload (and thus the need to buy hp and bkb) he can be an effective support. He doesn't need items at all, only levels.

In lane, you are sortof a treant/techies hybrid. Power spikes at 1 (armor and nuke) and 3 (stun and nuke), although 2 is quite nice as well (slow and nuke). I like to start with windlace and 1 mango. Priorities:

1. Secure every ranged creep with remnant if needed
2. Pull. Remnant makes many lanes unable to contest.
3. Fight. If you can remnant both heroes, you can probably win

I've been spamming storm a lot, since he's the most fun hero to play, and I think he's a lot stronger than people realize. Because they aren't thinking about him right. So here's my thoughts, hoping someone good at the game can tell me why I'm wrong.

First, Storm Spirit is a Boots of Travel hero. You do NOT need to buy mana regen until late game (and even then, its a luxury).

Bots is your primary farming item, fighting item, and map pressure item.

Bots gives you full bottle full mana every 30 seconds. There is no mana regen item you can buy that is better than that. Not bloodstone, not nothing.

Hey r/TrueDota2! I finally played some 7.01 Medusa and updated my build to capitalize on the new items/talents. The basic strategy hasn't changed: efficient early stats, greed out as much dps as you can, build skadi. Example timings

Lane Wand -> Phase

Standard early stats+damage. Remember never to use wand for sustain on this hero, its strictly for bust heal. Early Helm -> Maelstrom

With the reduced uptime on MoM, the jungle changes, and the reworked HoD, I think Helm is the way to go. Good (if expensive) stats, stacks for yourself, utility/dps in fights, synergy with maelstrom.

Literally everything wrong with Medusa builds is because of Ring of Aquila.

There have been 3 Medusa threads this week, so I had to get this out there.

Mask of Madness is 2x the cost, and 10x the value. It scales so hard with her damage, with no negative cost to her mana shield.

If you want to get a Yasha after that? Fine. I think demon edge, maelstrom, even crystalys or diffusal are better most of the time, but w/e.

Linkens over Skadi? Sometimes, sure.

Point is you don't need mana regen (you have snake) and you don't need armor (you have shield). So don't buy Aquila. Buy Mask. And Wand it's worth 2 ulti orbs eventually. And Mango it's a 125 gold mek charge ffs.

Yesterday I started playing Elite with my Oculus Rift. Flying the ship is one of the most fun experiences I've ever had in a video game.

But the game itself...

I don't want to drive around delivering things, or shooting at rocks. I want to fight things. Ideally players, but NPCs will do.

So far I've been flying out to a couple RES sites (near Freeport if you're a Freelancer fan), flying around for a couple minutes until some NPCs spawn, scanning until I find someone wanted. If it's something like an Eagle, I can have a fun little dogfight (though the AI seems pretty bad). Usually it's an Anaconda or something, so I have to tail it until police find it (or are at least nearby). If I fly we
