If you visit https://www.reddit.com/user/barrycarter/submit you won't be able to do much because that's my reddit blog dammit.
However, if you replace the barrycarter with your own username, you'll be able to post on your blog. Cool!

The only thing you can post right now is "yowza", which technically meets their criteria of no shitposting.

Apparently, yes!
I sometimes make comments that receive many replies, some of which are similar. Is there any way I can reply to all the replies on my comment at once?
For example, if I reply to my own comment, will everyone who replied to that comment be alerted that there's a new comment? Or do I have to reply to each comment individually?
As far as I know, editing my comment doesn't notify anyone who's replied to my comment
Thanks for the milk. Here's what I owe you and a little extra for yourself.
That's cow tipping
For some reason, I can't seem to login to my account, so asking for someone else to do this:

n=27 might be the first 0. I tried k=1 to k=1000000 (10 million) with no luck
n=28 is just 29, and n=29 is 158630929717149157441443670489100000000000000000000000000029. Is there a provision to say n=27 is unknown, but continue with n=28 onwards?
Mathematica code I used:
f[n_] := f[n] = Module[{m=1},
While[!PrimeQ[m^n + n], m++];
Return[m^n +
How do we define z^(p/q) when z is complex and p and q are integers?
My thinking is we take the 1st qth root of unity, ie, z^(1/q) and raise that to the pth power, but was wondering if there was a good source?
It does mean the cube root of -1 is not -1 if we treat -1 as complex, but IS -1 if we treat -1 as real, which seems awkward, unless we treat the negative real line as a special case (which sort of makes sense because it's a "branch cut")
I'm assuming that any definition we use would define z^r (where r is real) consistently.
Can GRASS GIS create signed distance maps? For example, if I had coastal data, could GRASS GIS create something like this:
Creating regular distance maps (unsigned) is easy using `r.buffer`, but `r.buffer` won't take negative values. Is there another way to create signed distance maps (the map above was created from other data, not via GRASS)
I have a page where I overlay various stuff on OpenStreetMap and am looking for someone to add an antipodal overlay (which would mean getting the appropriate tile, flipping it upside down, and overlaying it). My current page:

It's a long shot, but is there a sub where people will write computer program(s) for me? Most programming subs allow you to ask for help, but not an outright "do it for me please" request
According to my calculations (and as part of a larger project), I find Marion Island South Africa is approximately 7700 miles (12400 km) from both Guam and the US Virgin Islands, making it the land most distant from anything that could be considered the United States (excluding Antarctic claims). Could someone verify this for me?
