Hey all,

As background, I'm a native English speaker, and have previously learned French and Spanish to a conversational (with effort) level. This past summer, my wife and I spent 10 days in Italy, and I figured I'd use the opportunity to learn Italian -- I grew up with my nonno, so feel a connection to the language and culture, but have never learned it. Started learning a few months before, and managed to use some of that on the trip, which was lovely!

Anyway, we both loved the country, and I expect we'll be going back, and I've remembered how much I love learning languages. So I've continued learning. Right now, that mostly means reading (on book 4 of Ulysses Moore), watching Italian Yo

Hey all,

So my wife and I have been enjoying HelloFresh for almost 3 years now. Their meal selection is lovely, their prices are reasonable for us, and we get to spend a half hour or an hour in the kitchen together a few days a week.

Recently, though, the company itself has really gone downhill. We've had more and more missing ingredients (3/4 of our meals were missing their protein this week), deliveries are made late or not at all, and just generally there's a lack of "giving a crap" that's happening all the time -- recipe cards folded as they're crammed into the box, for example, and deliveries shifting from a bright HelloFresh truck to some dude in his Civic.

... So I've built a tool which allows my users to annotate the page (using an SVG overlay). If I try actually writing text with the tool, though, the rapid-fire strokes are triggering "something" that gives unintended behaviour.

Disabling scribble in the iPad's settings makes everything work as intended, so I assume that's the culprit. Obviously that's not a solution, though, both because telling users "this website is best experienced with your browser configured just like this" is obnoxious and because I actually want them to be able to use scribble elsewhere.

Anybody aware of a fix for this?

Hey all!

For the past 3 years, have been providing single sign-on to a site I run for a client who uses Azure for their employee logins. That was a big learning curve for me as a dev (first work with Azure SSO), but it's been going great since. The expiry for the original certificates is coming up quickly, though, and the closer we get the more I feel like rollover is a situation of "the blind leading the blind". Hoping somebody here might have experience from the admin and developer side and be able to provide some perspective.

My understanding is that the usual rollover goes like this... They add a new cert with a later expiry, and add it as a secondary in Azure. They send it my way (the

Hey all! Will be posting this to an Azure subreddit too, but since half of the problem is mine as a dev, thought somebody here might be able to help...

I've been writing some computationally-intensive JavaScript (little to no DOM manipulation) recently, and have started testing it across browsers. I'm a little shocked by how slowly it runs on Safari, so thought I'd check with folks here and see whether that's a known issue, or whether perhaps I'm fucking things up.

Specifically, on an OMR engine running through the pages of a PDF, I'm finding that Chrome, Edge, and Firefox all run at like 1-2 seconds per page, while Safari comes in at about 10 seconds. This seems to be slow across multiple components of the code -- that is, it isn't just one loop somewhere that's holding things back.

Is this a known thing? And if so, anything to do about

I've picked up a half-dozen Philips Wiz bulbs to replace my Inovelli bulbs, since the former seem to be highly recommended around here, and the latter are really inconsistently available (if at all). I've encountered an issue in setup, though, and am wondering if there's a decent solution...

It seems that the Wiz bulbs require a 2.4 GHz network to operate. That's fine -- my Nest hub has a 2.4 GHz band, as I understand it. However, the Nest puts both bands under the same name (no other option), and lets the device choose. My iPhone, from which I'm setting up the bulbs, chooses 5 GHz and doesn't seem to have a way of forcing 2.4 GHz, so when I go through the setup I get red blinking bulbs eve

Hey all! Coming up from Calgary with my fiancée at the end of the month, and we'd love to take in a small-venue show (theatre? magic? something else?), have dinner somewhere special, check out an exhibit... We love Fringe, and here in Calgary just finished (and loved) High Performance Rodeo. We're a bit geeky, and have also enjoyed (for example) the Muttart...

I've tested my Google fu against this one and am coming up surprisingly empty except for a couple of big shows. Any recommendations from the locals?

Hey all!

I've been on iFit for a long time, using it with my NordicTrack elliptical. Love it. Recently my sister in law started working out at a gym that has Freemotion machines, which I understand work with iFit as well. For the life of me, though, I can't find information online about how she should be logging into an iFit account from the machine, and as somebody who doesn't own a Freemotion machine, I'm afraid I'm not much help on menus and whatnot.

Can anybody point me in the direction of a decent online tutorial for this? Or maybe it's simple enough for a quick description?

Thank you so much!
