My grandmother was hospitalised after an attempt on her life as part of a scheme designed to steal her estate (really). I was at work, trying to work out if I could just take coffee intravenously, when I received the news that she was rushed to a hospital, unconscious, with suspected poisoning. Obviously, I was a liiiiittle discomforted by the news and maybe even slightly paler than usual. I told my boss that I would probably have to go home: being thousands of miles away from my family, I didn't have the comfort of hugging it out with my siblings and parents, so my mind just went into the whole "oh, the humanity" routine x100.
