I was reading this article on [[Doctor Doom, Unrivaled]] when looking for inspiration on my Doomsday pile. https://mtgrocks.com/mtg-doctor-doom-unrivaled/

Copying the relevant text below. If I have two cards left in my library, tap Doom, then sac him to [[Village Rites]] or [[Corrupted Conviction]] does his ability still resolve?

Doctor Doom also offers Doomsday combos. You only need two cards to start this, but you will need some specific cards in your 99 to pull off the win. With just three extra mana and a way to draw a card, you can win the game by using [Street Wraith](https://partn

I’m looking for some advice from DMs who have run or are running the campaign.

I’d like to break the campaign up into chunks (10-15 sessions) to give other DMs in the group a chance to run their stuff and help avoid things getting too monotonous over time. The idea is more old school play, drop the PCs into the dungeon, let them go nuts, and when they’ve had their fill take a break before coming back to it later. Could this work and if so how did you (would you) do it?

My group really enjoys downtime activities, roleplay in the city, and taking a breather occasionally for side quests. For those of you who’ve run it, how easy is it to weave in occasional downtime without it feeling awkward

After the SOS spoilers today I was inspired to build some form of spellslinger deck that runs all the founding dragons. I opted for [[Niv-Mizzet Supreme]] at the helm due to spellslinging synergy. The goal was to include each dragon, original and new printing, in a shell that works at a bracket 2 level. There’s a decent amount of need for tokens in the deck to work with some of the dragons, and I considered the mutation spells but left them out for now.

I’d love some feedback and thoughts!

A while back I picked up the Graveyard Overdrive precon. The goyf package was fun, but what really grabbed me was how much the deck felt like a love letter to old-school Jund.

I ended up retooling it to lean hard into that identity. The goal was to capture the classic Jund vibe by adding in former staples that translate well to Commander, while keeping the budget reasonable. It is not the most powerful list out there and the mana base is far from perfect, but what it lacks in optimization it makes up for in personality.

One of the big wins for me is that this is a deck I feel totally fine playing unsleeved. It is scrappy, grindy, and very much in the spirit of midrange magic from years p

I’m honestly feeling two things at once reading this sub lately: encouraged by how passionate everyone is, and kind of embarrassed by how extreme some of the reactions have become.

I’m getting serious flashbacks to the Last Jedi and TLOU2 discourse, and not in a good way.

A lot of what I’m seeing feels like a major mismatch of expectations. What people wanted the story to be and what the creators are actually telling are no longer lining up. That gap keeps widening, and when it does, trust erodes and frustration takes over. At a certain point, you either accept that the story is going in a direction you did not expect, or you decide it is simply not for you anymore. Neither choice is wrong

Hey all, looking for thoughts on a little experiment I've been brewing: Warrior’s Solitude

It’s a creatureless, Bracket 2, Selesnya token deck.

The goal is to prioritize token-generating spells over typical efficiency staples, focusing on synergy and flavor. Every token comes from a spell or the commander. The deck wants to feel like a “lone warrior conjuring allies”.

The deck’s been a blast to goldfish so far. The spell-based token makers like [[Secure the Wastes]], [[March of the Multitudes]], and [[Decree of Justice]] keep it flexible and reactive while still scaling into the late game.

Where I’m less sure is in the

I’m by no means a great player but I played several matches tonight and several of them were completely unbalanced. Either our team crushed or we were getting crushed. I’ve never lost so many games in one night by 400+ points. My buddies were having the same issue before I got on. Not sure if we just need to get better or something got tweaked on the backend.

How would you go about building Tiamat as an action oriented monster using the 5e2014 version as a baseline? Ideally as a solo boss for a level 20 party. Any good resources for tips on how to adjust an existing stat block?

Our group has tried several times to run a 1-20 campaign that always seems to fall short. This time we’re making really good progress but we’re finding this campaign slipshod and a hodgepodge. We’re near the end of The Lambent Zenith, completely RAW so far, and I’m planning on home brewing a bit. I’m likely scrapping/reflavoring the Eberron chapter to Exandria to work in more of our prior campaigns. I’m making a note to let them research more in Sigil and maybe bringing back some old PCs. I’d like to work in Vecna more, make the story more cohesive. I’ve seen various posts on this before but am having trouble finding them again. Have you made Vecna more prevalent in your games and if so how?

I really like FF1 and Party has been an interesting design space for me. I’ve had a Tazri 5c party deck before but disassembled when our tables meta shifted towards higher power. We’re back to some bracket 2 games and I want to build [[The Destined Warrior]] to fit there.

I tried to balance all the party members, including Shapeshifters to fill the gap. The decks plan is to get some early party enablers out, bring in Destined Warrior, and go for a combat win.

Looking for feedback on the build. https://archidekt.com/decks/16394612/warriors_of_light

Your commander says a lot about your deck, and let’s be honest, most of us wonder what people think when they see ours in the command zone. This thread is a place to find out.

Just drop a comment with the name of your commander, nothing else. Don’t explain your deck, your budget, or your meta. Then respond to other people with your impressions of their commanders. Do you think it’s strong or weak? Fun or annoying? Creative or overdone? Do you enjoy playing against it?

The goal is to get a snapshot of how the community views different commanders and spark some fun conversations along the way.

My current favorite is [[Lightning, Army of One]].

I’ve been running published adventures with the 2024 rules. Swapping Monster Manual monsters is simple, but some of the older adventure-specific monsters feel weak. Anything released after Monsters of the Multiverse probably needs less fixing.

Is there a quick way to buff 2014 monsters to 2024 standards?
