This maple tree was damaged by deer. It’s trying to recover. Today I saw these things that kinda looked like ladybugs (same size and shape). I touched one and it felt leathery and fluid filled. Ants seem attracted to them. The little ones are brown. The big ones cream and black. When I poked one with a toothpick it oozed. See pic two for the inside of one. They do scrape off.
