I've lived in Toronto most of my life, but haven't felt this big a difference till this year, It feels like a different place. For example , dating apps, same ones, me with the same profile as few months ago, but all of a sudden im getting great matches, engaged conversations, willingness to meet up. Or even going out, i roll solo sometimes and last Saturday this guy and his fun group of friends approached to socialize and just looked to be making friends. At these kind of events, it's never happened before! I'm not complaining, it's great, but the glass half empty guy in me is like, it's the same people in the city, why not keep the same energy all year round??

hey all, i ended up going to the show last night unexpectedly, and from all the negativity about Rebel, i thought the vibes were amazing! the show was definitely oversold and getting out was slow as always but the crowd by and large was freakin awesome! The staff there too were doing their best, had many positive interactions with security etc. Curious to hear everyone's experience!
I see this all the time but i don't think i understand what that means.
I know on the surface this seems like the clearest of messages that i'm with the wrong partner. But hear me out. I love my partner of 2 years, but when she's around, i feel so trapped, because everything has to be a discussion, there's so much coordination, compromise; decisions take forever to make, and there's unavoidable conflict. Sure there are great times too but they don't feel free flowing, it always feels like a negotiation or battle. And if i'm just selfish and decide things based only on what i want or how i feel, that doesn't go over well either.
I fear that maybe i've just been alone way too long, and gotten set in my ways, to the point where i can't let go of the life i had for
I've had a realization recently that my entire life has been working towards being "free". Being free from responsibility, obligations and mental burdens. I motivate myself to work a job i don't really like so that i can have time to do whatever i want. I workout consistently and hard so i can eat anything without thought. But what i want, and what i enjoy, and what i look forward to the most in being "free", is various forms of escapism, which doesn't seem the healthiest. I like partying for example, alcohol, and other drugs, going to music festivals/bars but i realize the health risks so i do not engage in it often, and it is forever used as a carrot that i can dangle for myself to earn. I(mid 30s-M) have recently been having a really hard time grappling with this. I've been self sufficient and alone for so long, that i'm having a hard time truly feeling comfortable with others, even if it's someone i really care about. It's like i always look at time alone as sacred, no matter what i'm doing. And if i'm out or with someone, in my head i'm almost always looking forward to retreating to alone time at the end of the night.
I feel so demoralized and exhausted when i look at what supposed "healthy" relationships are supposed to be like, where you constantly communicate every little thing. And there's probably always going to be an ever long list of things to improve, needs unme
Hi everyone, lately I've been feeling completely lost with a girl I've been seeing. Im a mid 30s man whos been seeing this girl in her early 30s for just over 2 years now. Lately, i have been feeling drained. We spend a lot of time togeth, and though there are still a few things we enjoy together, it's starting to feel really like i would just like to do my own thing alone or just in her company sometimes. I have many hobbies, a few friends and a full time job. She works part time, and doesn't have too many friends that she can see often, and doesn't really have hobbies. Our pattern, especially after me working a full day, then working out, I'll go see her at her place, but she's in the mood
