I’m currently in the market for a second-hand conti car in, but one thing I’m a bit wary of is odometer/mileage tampering in Singapore.

For those familiar with the used-car market here:
Are there reliable ways to identify possible odometer tampering before purchasing a car?

What (legal) recourse would I have if I find evidence of odometer tampering after buying the car?

Would especially appreciate experiences from anyone who has encountered this in Singapore!

I've been seeing the message "Heavier Speeding Penalties in 2026" on LTA electronic signboards a lot recently. Can anybody explain to me the point of this message? It almost sounds like "Make sure to complete your speeding in 2025 before it gets more expensive next year!"... It doesn't seem to do anything to deter speeding now, to improve road safety, etc.
