Never been on tour but have worked with plenty of guest techs as the house engineer of several venues in my area, and I've been curious when you guys decided it was time? I'm hoping to start touring in the next year or so, and while I'd love to grab my dream console (either DM7c or Quantum112), I know that's not a realistic expense for me at this time. That said, how did you justify it, and how did you come up with the console you went with?
Original driver mirror housing got completely ripped off the door so I ordered a replacement. I didn't realize however that the replacement is the heated model and not the standard model, but I'm assuming I could just splice the wires and tuck away the unused heated unit wires? The wire colors look the same aside from the two extra black wires, would I be fine to just solder the old plug to the new unit?
Any odd MacGyver solutions for scenarios where you didn't have the right tools with you.
For me, had a mini festival and needed to get a talk back for my FOH Tech (I was PM/Mon) for a gig that was very "throw-and-go". Mix on iPad situation to keep paths clear, so I used a turnaround on my XVive wireless in ear pack I had at the bottom of my bag and stuck it on a 58 switch. Was it stellar? No, but with time limitation and only being a 2 man operation it worked a lot better than expected to get through sound checks.
Near 19th ave and camelback area. I see Verizon get suggested, but also found Triad Wireless. Does anyone have experience with them? Are there other competitors that are better priced than Cox?
Context is important for this without a doubt, but generally what's your ideal range? For the venues and genres I work with, I typically find myself around 90-98dB A weighted
Can't sleep with earplugs or headphones either I get too much ear fatigue when trying to rest. I just want sleep
I feel like I'm not using the right search online because the only results I see are from Seismic Audio and I've had terrible experiences with those every time a tour comes in with them.
That said, I would like to find better alternatives both for myself and to recommend tours whenever their SARMSS craps the bed on arrival
The assembly surprisingly survived with the tiniest scuff and turn signal light is fine on it. Two things im unsure of:
1- how to tell if my unit is heated vs unheated?
2- I'm having difficulty searching for the extended driver side mirror since mine is the one with the extra mirror curved out. Are these just not really sold on their own, or am I just not using the right searches?
Really don't want to buy a whole new assembly if I can avoid it. This year just has not been kind to my poor CRZ
Howdy yall, the other day I noticed the sub on my partners rav4 was distorting heavily despite not pushing the signal at all (bass is set to -7 with everything else untouched).
Safe to say the cone is seized and need to swap it out. Are there other low profile subwoofers that I can swap it out for? Trying to find an OEM one has been difficult with two being lost in shipment and now they're over $200 when they were $100-120.
Haven't touched the original game in years, but could've sworn there was a feature to oil weapons. Is there any other features removed from the original?
