I’ve got an Akai cassette player and Technics receiver that haven’t been serviced. Also got a turntable from same era. So probably haven’t been cleaned or repaired in close to 50 years. Are there any good places that could service or repair these?
I decided to rewatch the series on Pluto and have just made it to Eve. A lot of shows take time to warm up and really hit their stride (ST:TNG for example) but once they do it’s kind of amazing. I’m finding The X-Files to be great from episode 1. And since it’s been probably 15-20 years since I saw it last I’m seeing it with very different eyes than I ever did before. I was in my teens during its original run. I am definitely a product of The Scully Effect…though a rather delayed culmination. I only graduated from medical school a little over year ago. And while I had initially planned on being a forensic pathologist, I had a last-minute change and decided that emergency medicine was wh
Are there any vets or other places that would take care of a cat for a week? A google search gave me a very poorly reviewed place and another place that seems to be dedicated to just dogs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks all.
Hey all. Do you get penalized for doing additional preventative stuff? Like if I give everyone the shingles vaccine, or tell everyone to stop smoking even if they don't. I don't seem to be penalized on the CCS Cases website for giving everyone a pneumococcal vax, but does that hold true for the real deal? Day 2 tomorrow. Totally, not panicking.
Hey all. Been in this sub for a while. I'm debating taking the plunge soon. I'm looking at 2-door, hard top Wranglers. What specific things should I be on the look-out for with the following. All are manual, will be used in the mid-west and a second vehicle. I'm keeping my Yaris.
2012 Sport 103k
2016 Sport 120k
2017 Wrangler Winter/Sahara 122k
I was looking more intently about a year ago and I remember developing a preference for either a late-model TJ or a 2015+ JK. I don't care for the JL (too big and the style is just off. Plus don't like the big screen).
I kind of like that 2012 that I came across. But I'm worried there's a reason I wanted to stick with 2015+ and have simply
Hey all. I've been doing this a little different than it seems some people here do. So not sure how to interpret things.
Been working on preparing for Step 3 off/on for a few months. Just doing UW questions when I get home and some of the CCS cases. I'm currently sitting at 42% UW done w/56% correct. I've only done 24 CCS cases and am slowly getting better. Average is 58%. It's taken me a bit to just figure it out. Seriously not intuitive.
Anyway, here's where things are a little different. I've been doing the NBME's this last week mixed in with UW. I do a block of the NBME then repeat the incorrects. Review comes after the repeat. I find that forcing myself to reason through the question
I've never served in the military but have a number of family members who did. I worked briefly as a civilian at a naval shipyard. In all those experiences I have never seen someone salute another person. I have been told that no one gets it right in film and TV. Is a good salute based on angle of the elbow from the body? Hand position? Are there good examples in movies/TV? I know there's differences between different countries with some doing the palm-out vs palm down. Would you change your salute if you were to salute someone who uses a different method? Or is it inappropriate to salute someone from a different service/country, etc.?
Don't know why but I found myself wondering about th
Hello all. I'll be moving to the area this summer to work at the hospital. I'm hoping to get to learn more about the area before moving down there. I live up north now. I was hoping to find an apartment or home similar to what I've got now (2br2ba) small-medium apartment community, woods, quiet. I've been looking around on zillow for places to rent and haven't found something that feels right. Am I just looking in the wrong places? Is this area one of those that you have better luck driving around and looking for "For Rent" signs?
Besides rent, I'd love to get a heads up on any good food. Love Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean. Also hoping for jazz/blues clubs. A place where I can sit and l
Hey all. I am a fan of the Surface Pro and have owned two so far. The original and then the 5. I need to have access to Epic EMR on a daily basis which I need Windows 11 for. Usually I have computer access in patient rooms but not always. And when I'm in an area without a computer it is even tougher. Outside of the EMR I need something I can use for daily run-of-the-mill stuff (email, youtube, writing, website access). Also light gaming (Steam - Crypt of the Necrodancer, Blasphemous or similar).
Would either of these work well enough for the next 4-5 years to get me through residency and daily life? Is the 32 gb overkill for this purpose or would it give me more longevity? I imagine I
