Just moved to ProtonMail from Gmail, and it's so nice to get a fresh start. Really like it so far.

I realised in reflecting on my setup, that I have all my addresses living under a single account. I have the compartmentalization I need, but I wonder if putting all my eggs in the proverbial basket might be compromising my security. If someone (hypothetically) hacked my account, they get access to everything.

I guess it's a tradeoff between convenience (only need to log in to one account) vs. being more secure in having the addresses themselves in separate accounts?

I've been using Tresorit and Simple Gallery Pro together as a replacement for Google Photos on Android. Finding a suitable alternative has been difficult, as cloud providers don't prioritize user experience for images, meaning you essentially just get a list of filenames with poor file preview.

So far the combination is working quite well:

  • Google no longer has access to my photo galleries
  • Tresorit is a fantastic cloud provider, but not suitable as a 'photo gallery' service
  • Simple Gallery Pro is an exclusively offline service and a fantastic photo app

What I'm doing right now is setting Tresorit to automatically send photos to my account using the [camera upload function](https://tre

First time Souls player here, a couple of days in (taking it slow) and the first proper boss with the nightmare-inducing music that goes ba-nana NA ba-nana NA jumps off the tower and scares the mother-loving hell out of me.

Managed to get it on my sixth attempt even after botching the diving attack and trying to kill it with the menu still open. My goal is to play through this game as 'blind' as possible to get the full experience.

Anyone here lucky enough to defeat it first try without him face-planting into the rocks below?

I'm working on a web application to generate demo data for clinical patients. You complete a form to create the demographics for your new patient record, e.g. name, date of birth etc.

Right now I have this form as a multi-step inside a paper-like container (still a work in progress!):

However, I'm still trying to decide on the best approach to the home page, as this is not the first page you'll see upon loading the application.

The homepage should display a list of patients by project (rendered as a table), with the option to add a new project and a new pati

I have a form which consists of a number of components, which, on submission, should build a JSON object from the entered values.

The parent component is responsible for handling the state of all the child components (this is based on an earlier thread I made)

This means that the parent component holds state values for every single field in the form - and there are many of them.

So I will essentially end up with something like:

this.state {

   value1: 'value',
   value2: 'value',
   value3: 'value',
   ......

}

This will result in dozens of va

I have a form which is made up of a number of reusable components, and each of these components is controlled, i.e. binds the value of the input, dropdown, etc. to its state.

On submitting the form, I want to build a JSON object that uses all the values entered and sends it via HTTP to an API endpoint.

The problem I'm having is in figuring out how the submit handler could retrieve all of the values given that they're 'scattered' across multiple components - i.e. the form is made up of different components like <ID />, <Address />, <Phone />, <NextOfKin /> etc.

If the entire form was rendered in a single component, I could happily retrieve them all via the s

I'm considering this video a Must Watch for everyone who's finished the game.

This is a very long discussion, some two and a half hours, but revealed to me just how little I really understood about the plot of the Remake, and indeed even the original game.

I'm not big on "fan theories" for video games, but this was genuinely enlightening and fascinating in a way that I haven't experienced before.

Would love to hear anyone's responses to it if you have the time and desire to GO DEEP.

I'm not familiar enough with their work and creative styles to know which of the tracks we've heard so far might belong to whom. Anyone able to hazard a guess as to who might have been responsible for the arrangement of the Bombing Mission theme that plays out in the demo? It's a fantastic blending of the original with the Distant Worlds arrangement, and the tasteful production make this probably my favourite version of this theme.

I'm assuming Uematsu-san's involvement is limited to the song "Hollow".

So at work I've been tasked with providing a user interface for a Node.js app that currently works by manually creating JSON files, and using the command line to convert the files to a special format used within my industry.

My plan is to create a React app that will provide a form, and on submission create the JSON from the form data, and then call an Express API to do the conversion work (avoiding command line altogether). It's fairly straightforward, but my lack of experience is making it difficult to justify an approach to structuring the codebase.

Scalability is not a concern as it would only be used by a handful of people at a time.

I would like some advice around choosing from the

I bought a PS4 Pro just last week for this, and I've played it a single time so far.

I think it's a good idea to have familiarised oneself with the mechanics leading up to release, so I'll probably play a handful more times until I've pretty much got things down pat.

This is the most recent game I've played in more than 10 years, so I am thoroughly unacquainted with contemporary gaming. Needless to say, it is beyond stunning in virtually all respects!
