I'm doing some industry research around a software idea for manufacturing and would really value input from people who work in factories, OT, industrial IT, or systems integration.
I want to know 4 things :
-
Will factories actually give third - party software company access to their operational data?
-
How accessible is data from systems like SAP, Siemens, AVEVA, Rockwell, etc? Are APIs/ connectors generally available, or is integration usually dificult?
-
What does the software landscape of a real factory actually look like ? Do plants typically have ERP, MES, SCADA, PLC, Historian, QMS, CMMS/EAM, PLM, Etc., or does it vary significantly?
-
How well these systems can be connected

Hi everyone, I'm building a very early stage landing page to validate my idea. The page may collect small prepaid payment from users.Do I need to Integrate a payment gateway like at this stage? Do I need to have a registered business (GST/company) before accepting payments?
Hey everybody, I’m developing a mobile game about running election campaigns and political strategy across India. I want to see if a game about politics can still be fun and fair for everyone. What would make a game like this interesting for you to play? I would to hear your thoughts on this.
I'm validating a concept and need input from licensed psychologists or psychiatrists - just 10 questions, 10 minutes max. Please comment or DM if you can connect me with someone. Really appreciate any networking help! Thanks! 🙏
Curious what causes more friction?
-
Poorly detailed or incomplete shop drawings?
-
Long waits on submittal approvals from consultants or architects?
Or is it something entirely else?
Hey everyone, i am part of a New Jersey - based team that supports teams with facade shop drawings and materials takeoffs. I handle marketing and sales.
I'm not an estimator myself and I'm definitely not here to pitch anything but I'd really appreciate some honest insight from those of you in the field.
What are the key things you'd want someone like me to understand before even starting a conversation with an estimator?
-
What frustrates you most when people try to "sell" you drawing services?
-
What do you look for when considering outside help(if ever)?
-
Any major red flags/ green flags?
I'd would love to just listen and learn from you folks who do this work directly. Appreciate
Hey everyone, You ever feel that moment when you're stressed, anxious, or just in a weird mood, and you just end up scrolling endlessly on your phone, even though it doesn't really help? That feeling of wanting a quick break but just getting lost in stuff that doesn't make you feel better? I'm working on an app idea for exactly those moments. It's meant to be a simple, friendly sidekick on your phone. Here's the basic thought:
- Quick Check-in: You tell the app how you're feeling right now (stressed, calm, tired, etc.).
- Instant Help: Based on your mood, it gives you a tiny, personalized something – like a cool visual, a short sound, or a quick activity.
- Smart & Simple: It uses a bit o
