I am from NY and two years ago I moved to SF/Bay Area for a tech job. For anyone who is trying to cultivate an active social/dating life in the Bay, I strongly discourage you from moving there.

Here are my observations:

The Bay might just be the worst place for Asian guys to date. In fact it might just be the worst place in the world for straight guys in general to date (if youre gay then supposedly its heaven).

Every other asian girl is with a nerdy looking patagonia-puffer white guy. Someone recently vibe coded a website for WMAF relationships and supposedly got a lot of positive attention. That alone made me wanna leave instantly.

There are not that many single women here, and the on

Hey all, late 20s lurker...Currently working in tech, making the best money I've ever made and debt free, yet I'm wondering if this is all there is to life. I never got to travel to Asia since my early teens because I've just been so busy grinding my career this last decade, and can't help but think that there's no better time than now, even though the job market is objectively not great and AI is coming for us and all that. Not really into passport bro shit, just wanna travel for the sake of travelling and exploring my roots and visit cool places. I don't expect to settle down in Asia either.

I have no passive income scheme beyond investments, but I've saved up a fair bit of money where I

I have rotated thru several pairs of shoes but most recently I picked up a pair of NB Numeric 306 Jamie Foy's (because it was on sale lol) and for some reason my left foot feels numb after I wear it and skate in it.

I have previously worn Last Resorts, NB Numeric 440s, Adidas shoes etc. and this is the first time where after wearing it my foot feels numb. Needless to say, I'm not gonna continue wearing these shoes - anyone have recs for a good skate shoe for someone with wider feet?

I'm pretty new to dating and find it hard to meet women IRL. I recently graduated college and moved to an urban area in the East Coast and outside online dating idk how to meet more women. I joined a martial arts gym and while it's an awesome hobby there's like 2 women and the rest of us are dudes lmao. I don't really have a social circle yet where I can meet friends of friends and potential partners that way. I also don't really go out that much though I was much more active in the summer when it was warm out. Nowadays there's far fewer people out and most people are masked so even if I want to approach I can hardly tell if they have even noticed me. Outside my job (also mostly men) and the

I'm going through some issues of depression, anxiety, relationship struggles right now, and I think it would be helpful for me to see a therapist. Was wondering if any in this sub have used therapy for the better. Growing up, and I feel like this is all-too-common in Asian households, we weren't really taught to speak our thoughts openly and mental health was swept under the rug. Whenever I went through some hard times, I'd just lock myself in my room and play Playstation until I got bored/distracted enough from the issue at hand. However, I strongly believe that therapy can be helpful, even though I've never done it. For me, this space is as close as it gets to therapy tbh.
