It seemed like most of the exam revolved around guessing honors students based on the discussion periods, but of course we're not actually let in on any of the dialogue in the discussions, so we're just reading the narration of the guesses and the outcomes, and are hardly involved in the actual exam whatsoever.... Did I miss something? There were obviously big pay offs in this volume in terms of character moments and stuff that had been built up, but in terms of the underlying plot.... pretty mid sadly.

I know people have been complaining about y2 for a while but I actually really like all the volumes including takuya's expulsion in v8. I only thought v9-v11 were mid because they were obvi

Let me preface this by saying this is just my interpretation of the books. It is stated in the wiki/glossary that the layers of the Outside represent diminishing levels of objectivity, where the "greater will commands" meaning the powerful beings in each sub reality control much or everything of what happens to their will. By contrast, Earwa is objective reality, in which the wills of souls and the objective circumstance of the world are completely separate.

Thus enter the Dunyain, they seek to become the Absolute, the perfect movers of their own self actualizing thoughts. As we follow through the end of the series, we find that Kellhus too is no less blind to the "darkness that comes befo

See the full quote from reverend insanity below:

"I had once screamed, gradually, I lost my voice.

I had once cried, gradually, I lost my tears.

I had once grieved, gradually, I became able to withstand everything.

I had once rejoiced, gradually, I became unmoved by the world.

And now!

All I have left is an expressionless face, my gaze is as tough as a monolith, only perseverance remains in my heart."

uBlock not working on Twitch again?

duplicate (try TwitchAdSolutions)

Saw the thread a few days ago for the banner/non-preroll ads, and agree that's been fixed. Not sure if it's just me but around the same time I've also started getting commercial ad-breaks again. Updated my filter list multiple times, and I currently have the following under "My Filters" related to twitch:

twitch.tv##+js(twitch-videoad)

https://edge.ads.twitch.tv

ads.twitch.tv

Anyone else experiencing or know a fix?

Have some free time next few weeks and have been very out of the loop. What are you guys playing in terms of single player stuff?

I've liked level/farm style games like stardew valley and melvor idle in the past but don't think I'm quite autistic enough for a factorio.

so i kind of focused on leveling all skills to 99 before really doing much with combat so i’m not very informed on what the best leveling strats are or really what I should be doing at all.

My Attack strength and defense are getting up there and i've mainly just been doing dungeons to get amulet of looting and sunset rapier and now since I have those just slayer tasks. Haven't really used any prayers, runes or anything like that so just looking for general advice on where to go if my primary goal is to get all combat skills to 99.

hello. i'm was aware of the whole "60 hours homework a week" thing when i applied but that sounded so ridiculous i didn't even bother investigating it. the more i read comments and talk to people though that trope seems to be truer and truer. i'd say the average of what i've seen people saying is 4-6 hours a day(this is also what the person on my "talk with a current student" thing applied)

not gonna lie, that sounds pretty miserable to me. i like learning and all, but i really don't have the work ethic or time management to be on top of that. so i have a few general questions:

  1. how much homework do you a week?
  2. i know homework will vary on the class, so what types of classes give what

I know there are different versions and types of technocracy but i'm just referring to the general idea of technocracy, specifically as opposed to democracy, in general.

Also, please leave suggestions for good "technocrat manifesto's" if you will.

I've always defended the value of philosophy in contrast to people who would claim science and or math are the only reliable sources of information. And, to be clear, I think the critical thinking and self-questioning skills developed through asking philosophical questions are definitely beneficial and useful.

However, the other day I was watching a debate between two philosophy graduates on skepticism. The skeptic argued while it is useful to accept certain things as true, there's really no way to ever prove anything with certainty--from whether morality is real all the way down to the law of non-contradiction. To be honest, this position seemed pretty convincing to me.

The main thing th

So from my understanding, to believe in free will (atleast as characterized in the way of libertarian free will, or “libertarianism”, as seen on the philosophy surveys) necessitates belief in something extra physical that gives an agent power (agency) to actually deliberate a decision themselves rather than simply by determined by their genetic makeup and life experience (like we would say other physical things are). Obviously an example of this would be divine will.

From my understanding of compatibilism, determinism and free will are not mutually exclusive. I have heard often that this is a way to hold onto some moral systems that hinge on an agent actually having agency, rather than a c
