That’s it really. Looking to drive through Russia in 3 days 2 nights this August. I have started the visa process and have my invitation. But I am more so curious to the safety of the trip and how we could expect to be treated during our journey. So cross into Russia, spend the night in Vladikavkaz, then a night in Astrakhan then off to Kazakhstan. I’ve heard the border crossing can take time sometimes so I wanted to have cushion.

I know there were warranted improvements from the first gen 2.7l to the second gen 2.7l but that the first couple years of the 10 speed transmission have their issues too, which is the better overall combo? Hypothetically let’s say both have same mileage 100k and were well maintained.

My partner is looking to upgrade from a MacBook Air. She writes a ton, edits video and photos often (lots of Final Cut). I feel like she works the computer a ton when I see her screen with a hundred apps running. What should I focus on when shopping to make sure her computer is ready for the job?

Outside regular high maintenance stuff, looking at buying a high mileage supercharged raptor factoring in some rebuilds and letting her rip. Thoughts?

F150 with added parts is the only ineligible answer.

I’m finding more and more nice gen 1 Supercabs around the $30k mark, less than 100k on the clock. Pretty sold on it.

But…

Now I’m seeing high mileage gen 2s Supercab come up for 35-40k. I mean yes cam phasers, shocks, prolly a turbo rebuild of some sort. Some have plastic oil pans too I guess? I would want to tune/build a bit but not go too crazy? Tune, trans tune / gears prolly, turbo upgrade if the originals are coming out anyways or is this a crazy idea all together? The best project car is the one on the road being used. Is this the truck version of a cheap bmw m3 waiting for costly repairs? I’m in the middle of researching aka YouTube vids to random googles in the forums and meeting

Currently shopping, might go and build out a older diesel. Might go with a newer coyote. The svt raptor however always finds it way back into the mix. Hoping some owners could sell me on it. Looking for an adventure machine I can rip up the streets on too. Would love one already supercharged, has anyone here had experience boosting after 100k+?
