Hey everyone, just need to vent for a second because this has happened to me a few times now, and it's driving me crazy. 😤
I’ll see a job post that fits my stack, spend time reading through the requirements, and write a thoughtful, personalized proposal. I submit it, use up my Connects for Bid, and feel good about the pitch.
Then, an hour or so later, I check back on the job, and the client has completely edited the post. Not just a minor typo fix, they’ve changed the entire title, the scope, and the tech stack. Suddenly, the job I applied for doesn't even exist anymore, and I’ve wasted Connects and time pitching for something I might not even do or want to do.
How is this fair? 😡

I am a postpaid user so I pay my bill when it reaches to its limit, recently, my bill was Rs1458 I paid it but somehow it get recorded twice at Telenore side and my balance goes to negotiate (-1458)

Now what should I do,
Upwork renaming "Available Now" to "Open to Work" is completely pointless and ruins the whole feature

reddit.comI'm not even talking about winning the job anymore. I'm talking about getting my proposal seen.
Half the time, I don't even finish reading the job post before it already says 50+ proposals. And let's be honest, "50+" is basically Upwork's way of saying "somewhere between 50 and infinity."
A huge number of these jobs end up feeling ghosted. The client never hires anyone, or they only open one or two proposals before disappearing. Your proposal can be perfect and still never get viewed.
Then there are freelancers spending hundreds of connects every week boosting proposals. I genuinely don't know how that's sustainable. It feels like a huge chunk of their earnings just goes back to U
I have noticed this pattern on Upwork quite often. When a client sends out invites for a job, they usually end up interviewing only the freelancers they invited, regardless of how many other people submit proposals.
It feels frustrating because freelancers who apply organically are spending their connects just to compete, often bidding against each other and spending hundreds of connects in the process.
I understand that clients want to find the right person quickly, but it makes me wonder: are regular proposals becoming less valuable when invited freelancers
Right now I have a simple bash script that opens the Recent Jobs page in Firefox every 4 to 5 minutes. I manually look at the new jobs and close the tab. I'm wondering if it's worth taking this a step further.
My idea is not to auto apply, auto message clients, auto bid, or interact with the site in any way. The only goal would be:
- Open the Recent Jobs page using my own logged in Firefox profile.
- Wait for the page to fully load.
- Read the HTML/DOM to detect if there are any new jobs.
- If there are, send myself a desktop or Telegram notification.
- No clicks, no scrolling, no form submissions, no automated proposals.
I know it's technically possible with browser automation tools,
Does anyone know when the next cycling event in Lahore will be?
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to put a warning out there about a highly manipulative Easypaisa scam I ran into today. Fortunately, I caught on before they could do any damage, but it’s easy to see how someone could fall for it.
How the scam works:
1- The Initial Call: I got a normal cellular call from an international-looking number (00973432003737). The person on the line asked if the SIM was registered in my name and if I used an Easypaisa account on it. I said yes.
2- The Pivot to WhatsApp: They told me I would receive a WhatsApp video call shortly for verification.
3- The Trap: A few moments later, I got a WhatsApp video call from a local mobile number (+92 344 0837579).
4- The Threat:
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some clarity on how Payoneer’s Annual Account Fee works if I plan on leaving my account dormant for a long period, and how best to avoid incurring charges down the road.
If I don’t receive any payments and keep the account completely inactive for several years, do annual fees keep piling up in the background?
Specifically:
- If I maintain a $0 balance each year: Will the annual fee still trigger and accumulate as a negative balance, only to be deducted the moment I finally receive funds in the future?
- Preventing fees: Is there a recommended way to "pause" or keep the account dormant without racking up inactivity or annual fees?
