It would seem it is possible it is no longer actively developed or maintained, with the the last release/update on Hardfought nearly 2 years ago. I have made inquiries before, on top of my recent queries, and have not received any feedback.

But, now I have encountered something incredibly odd with the Pirate's Marauder's Map! I have been desperately keeping an eye on it, leaving it in an oilskin sack when not in use to make certain I do not lose it to supposed (?) water damage, and have been using it to great success. I tried to use the Invoke and got the following message:

What do you want to invoke? [v or ?*] v
Ye detect the absence of artifacts.
Ye feel mundane.

While in a shop, or outside of it, I have been called a "Thief!" and the shopkeeper turns hostile. Just now, I was zapping drain life repeatedly in the same line at the baby dragon that appears in the version Mine Town that has it.

Welcome to experience level 8.
You learn how to perform souleater!
You hear a scream, "Thief!"
You hear gunfire.

In hindsight, in this case, zapping drain life into a shop is a Bad Idea as you can drain wands and magical items. The baby dragon may have picked up a wand. But even still, if the drain life casting killed the baby dragon

The last Pirate I had had the Marauder's Map blanked by diving into normal water and my current Pirate had the Map blanked by water. You can still inoke it but when you try to read for clairvoyance/magic mapping it says: "This scroll seems to be blank." Is this an intentional change in Hack'EM?

Seems odd, being an artifact, it would do this. All the pages I am finding for other variants, and the original patch state: "The Marauder's Map also cannot be subjected to blanking or destroyed by fire." Plus, with the very watery nature of Pirates, it seems odd it would be affected by water at all . . .

There have been many, many many times where I know that I did not do anything to abuse alignment and was always given a "you did something wrong" response. There have also been a lot of people that swear they've done no wrong. Sure, there are instances where people were just not aware what was abuse.

Now, now that you can track abuse, I have proof.

I was on Home 2 of the priest quest and attacked a clearly hostile skeletal horse (before I attacked, I saw it it defined as a "1" with warning). I killed it and the game reports "Turn 66569: add'l penalty, killing a peaceful creature (-9)." They were always hostile, and were not angered when peaceful. There are no pits dug, by me, on the le

It so incredibly difficult to tell what is dark and what is light. Numerous times now I have sworn I was in dark only to lose my weapon or armor. When a priest/ess loses their dark mace they can become near worthless, attack-wise. And the ingredients to make another mace can be quite difficult to come by, at at least until the mid game, and in some cases late game.

I also am not certain what the rules are as it just does not seem to make sense. Attack from a doorway into a hallway and your weapon can crumble. Attack from light into a dark spot, in a room or cavernous level, and your weapon can crumble — to me, that is odd. I am striking into the dark!

I like to play with dark gray, s

On a whim decided to saddle a tame large cave lizard. I know it is drow that can saddle and ride them, but thought I'd try anyways. Who knows? Maybe it was made so druid can ride them.

So, I attempt to saddle a leashed large cave lizard and they refuse. They become feral/untame. They were still leashed. I talked to it, it became friendly, still leashed. I did not realize it was leashed until I tried to walk and it hissed and then the leash snapped loose.

Just seems it should "break of its leash" when it goes feral.

First off, if you even see a monster from several paces away, you get interrupted when eating. It becomes a chore to eat almost anything without having to re-attempt it. However, if you are approached by a magic user you just continue eating. Is this a bug, a feature or something that was recently added/updated? It recently killed a rather promising character! I had nearly 50 HP and an orc shaman kept blasting me with severe wounds. Seems odd all that one has to do is SEE a monster and they stop eating, but get blasted with magic and "it's OK, we're cool!" ??

On top of that, it would be nice just have an option/prompt for "Continue eating (y/N)?" If a newt is 25 paces away, why do need to t

My gnomish bard has been trying to keep his level down so that he can get through the SMC, so I have been relying on pets.

Had a wonderful, very experienced grizzly bear named Clawfangle who was mowing everything down. Everything! A few things they took down surprised me. It rarely lost any hitpoints to attacks. I go into a lower difficulty random dungeon and displace Clawfangle into a plain old large orc:

Clawfangle, the grizzly bear, is killed!

In one hit. And they had full health.

I, a low-level gnome with unadvanced sword skill, kill the large orc in one darned hit myself. I ate his corpse it a fit of revenge! This actually happens quite often in ADOM and do not understand why. Rec

Playing the latest 3.7.x on Hardfought, I encountered a named dog or cat on level 8, and did not locate a ghost. It was the first time on that level, was in the first room. I do not recall what the name was. It was not a former pet of mine. Is this something new in 3.7.x, or do I need to look a bit harder for a ghost?

Only thing I can think of is, level 6 had a ghost. There was a pet located for that ghost. Could another pet have entered trap door and fell 2 levels?

Just like the title questions asks: is it?

You get XP for everything these says. I do not recall getting XP for doing basic tasks pre-1.2.0. All you have to do is enter Terinyo, and you get XP. Rescue Khelavaster, and you get XP. So, you have to forgo all quests, and just go do side dungeons. Don't you get XP for eliminating the Orb Guardians, even if you do not kill them? I think you even get XP for giving the RotHK to the eternal guardian — do you not? Or does talking to someone in Terinyo trigger all of the XP for rescuing Khelavaster and killing the Orb Guardians?

I did not dally, I made it straight to the stairs in just a few turns and there is a kobold trapmaster mixed in with the bunch.

The chaos servant moves across a loose stone. You hear a "CLICK!".

Uh oh.

The only thing I did do was pick pocket the servants — as one these days I will read: "You steal a lead amulet!" and it will be an amulet of life saving! There really was nothing I could do as the room was rather small. Even if I had gone in swinging, one of the servants would have triggered it, as it was right next to the door.

Yes, as the wiki states ". . . fireball traps never appear on D:16." but they can be made! Grr. What are the odds

First thing is first. I had to cast a spell (Strength of Atlas? Messing with Farsight?) and was bumping into mountains, did not realize it at first (it was late: roguelikes + tiredness = bad things), thought I had walked away from the Gremlin Cave entrance and did not — mistakenly entered it. Immediately left.

It seems to to be obvious — but maybe there is some weird "as long as you only spend 1 turn in a location" rule (I'm desperate) — Did I just screw up the achievement?

Really stinks. I had all but a few spells. It was looking really good. The only thing lacking for advancing further was the sometimes elusive danger scroll. Seems like a 'Q'uit to me?

Also, with how achievements work

Cannot locate any information on this. Does not evading a wilderness encounter count as a location visited for Lithium Man challenge in Steam achievements?
