For context, I (21F) work as a direct support staff for disabled individuals in a home at a company called Chrysalis. Back in December (when I was only working since October) of last year, I show up to work as a grave staff for my shift 12am-8am. They inform me that they found bed bugs in one of the client’s rooms. Immediately I start panicking but I finish my shift. A few days later, the clients temporarily move houses and an exterminator comes by and the spray the house. HELP!! I work at a job that helps disabled adults and we are all assigned houses with 2 or 3 individuals in each house. On Monday the nurse said that they noticed some bed bugs in one of the individual’s rooms. I am now very paranoid that I have bed bugs. What if the bed bugs were going on for quite some time and I already took them home with me? We temporarily switched houses and called for an exterminator to get rid of the bed bugs but I am worried the damage has already been done. On the bright side the exterminator said it didn’t spread to the other individual’s rooms but it did to one of the couches I never sit on. Should I be worried about bed bugs in my own home now? What should I do?
