Hey guys, just wanted to share a small milestone that I hit after ~2 months of building an extension for custom keyboard shortcuts in Google Workspace.

I launched to total silence for the first few weeks. Eventually, a customer emailed me directly and asked to speak through a couple of additional things they wanted me to build.

We chatted on a video call, and that conversation led me to scrap my original intended use case and pivot to an adjacent (but better) set of functionality. Have just landed my first paying user, and feels SO great.

Big learning: Launch early. I learned more from that one customer interaction than I ever could have building by myself.

I have built an extension for keyboard shortcuts on Google Sheets, Google Slides and Google Docs. I recently released a "Pro" tier for business users (it's free for Gmail users)

To do this, I wrote a privacy policy and terms of service which I wanted to keep brief and easy to understand. We collect very little user data, and use Stripe for all payment services.

Would really appreciate if anyone has any advice on what are some MUST HAVES for both docs, or any scar tissue they're willing to share!

Recently switched from Excel to Sheets and found I was really missing Alt ribbon keyboard shortcuts. Wrote a short extension to bring them to sheets.

Link.

Completely free, no data collected. Feedback welcome.

A friend and I put together a little Chrome extension called SwiftKit; wanted to share here in case it's useful to anyone!

We both used Excel’s Alt+letter keytips all the time in our previous jobs. When we switched to a startup that uses on Google Sheets, we really missed using our keyboard to navigate the app, and found we were losing our flow.

The behavior is the same: hit Alt, see labels over each menu item, and type to execute. We've tailored it for Sheets’ UI (we deliberately didn’t force Excel’s exact shortcuts where they felt awkward).

It’s totally free, and we'll keep it free for Gmail users. If
