I am changing my front driveway from gravel to grass, I have around 1 tonne of gravel plus a few rubble bags of mud to get rid of.

A skip is nearing £300, I don’t have a car but could hire one. What’s the cheapest way to get rid of the gravel?

Thanks

You were walking out of the exit closest to the podium around 4pm.

You were short, South Asian, wearing a blue-and-yellow panel cap, and had an incredible smile. We caught each other’s eye and smiled at one another, but I didn’t get the chance to say hello.

If this sounds like you, or you think you know who I mean, I’d love to take you for a coffee! 🙂

Can you get promoted off the back of an incident?

:ATP: :EAW: Ask the Police (England & Wales)

I want to ask this without it coming across as disrespectful, as this officer is actually one of the better SLTs I've come across.

Back in 2019, they were a Sergeant and handled a major incident exceptionally well, receiving national recognition for their actions. I believe they were promoted to Inspector around 2022.

Fast forward to today, and they're now a Chief Superintendent, having been in the role for around 18 months.

I'm not suggesting the promotions weren't deserved. From what I've seen, they carry themselves very well, make strong decisions, and come across as a very capable leader.

It did make me wonder, though: can an officer be recommended or fast-tracked for promotion based

It's only a one-month assignment. What can I do during the first few days to show my officers that I've got their backs and I'm there to support them, while also making it clear that I expect everyone, especially the newer officers, to work hard and maintain high standards?
