Got home from vacation to find a letter in the mail saying Pacific Source will no longer offer coverage "in your area" and I must choose another company for 2027. Looks like they are totally exiting the individual ACA market.

Sooo, who else do people like—or at least not hate with a burning passion—around here? Insurance tends to be a "pick the least bad" industry.

I occasionally acquire a modern medal that has an original chain link or split ring attached. Those don't play well with 2x2s but removing them feels a little like compromising the original state of the piece.

Anyone have any clever solutions, or is everyone of the mind that those parts are sacrificial in the name of better storage?

Police report number: 25-75372

This morning our contractor's dump trailer was stolen from our construction site, along with a handful of materials. A friend in the neighborhood caught the apparent thief on their door cam at 5:44am going east on NW Quincy Ave, but it's only clear enough to show it's a dark pickup truck. Odds are they took 11th to Portland or Newport.

Hoping that anyone with a shot of the street in that general area can check around that time and see if you spotted them too.

Merry Christmas, right?

I'm getting close to finishing a home renovation and on the backside of our island is end-to-end 7.5" depth cabinets: perfect for storing bottles and glassware two rows deep. I'd love to hang all our stemware, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding any stemware racks shorter than 10". Anyone know of a good product option or is my best bet some custom routered wood strips?

I'm curious how many of you document your collection with photographs of each coin. I'm a hobbyist photographer so I definitely have the itch to get into it. There are a few semi-regular posters here that show off really nice photos, and I wonder if there are more of you.

If so, do you incorporate them into your digital collection software (Numista or otherwise)? Maybe you just photograph the ones you want to share or sell? Or just do it as an insurance requirement? Or do you have another motivating reason?

If you don't photograph them, I'm curious if it's just the time & effort that stops you or if it's something else.
