I’m looking for some professional/personal advice. I’m part of an awesome HR team, and don’t live in a costly area. Currently making $60k and just received an offer for $73k. At the moment I work in a shared services model but mainly handle benefits related items. The new role would be for a benefits specialist role. I’ve been in my role a while and am scared to start over. Has anyone had similar experiences? Would you take it?
Current Job
- Remote
- Amazing manager
- Able to go to my child’s school events
- Team of 3 so someone can cover if I’m ever out
New Job
- In person (only 10 min drive)
- Better pay
- Resume booster
- Only Benefit Specialist other than the manager
Wife and I are in our late 20s. I don’t have any loans but she has a few student loans and a car loan. We want to pay it off as fast as possible. We have 20k saved up for a future home but would it be better to pay off some of the loans first? After monthly expenses we have about $2k -$2.5k which go into a HYSA

Hey all, my little sister turns 15 next year and we’re throwing a quinceañera. There aren’t many stores who tailor/design dresses where we live. We’re headed to Chicago next weekend and hoping to get some good recommendations. Anyone have recommendations on stores/boutiques? TIA
Might be overreacting because of first time parent nerves. We are having our asbestos siding removed and my wife is worried about staying home while it is being done. We have a toddler which is why she is worried. Is it safe to stay indoors or should I book a hotel for a couple days?
I’ve looked at multiple 529 posts and confused myself even more. My spouse and I live in Wisconsin and have heard we can invest in a Utah 529 plan. We have a 2 year old and want to help out with college as much as we can. Our biggest questions are if it makes sense going with a Utah 529? Does it provide a tax benefit going to another state or should we look into a WI 529 or even something like Charles Schwab or Vanguard? We both don’t come from the most financially stable families so we have no idea where to start.
Hi all, sorry if this isn’t the correct group. I currently work in HR at a different company. I recently saw a posting for an HR Store Representative and was wondering if someone here had experience? I’m curious to know what a day to day shift looks like and if anyone knows the salary range?
