What are some of the best/silliest/strangest beliefs, rituals, and superstitions you've seen people have about their dice?

For example: I knew someone who kept their dice in the freezer with the highest side up so they would "know they were supposed to be frozen in that position."

What's your pet peeve that's not of real consequence but drives you nuts anyway?

Mine is that VtM pages are numbered at the bottom center so I have to open the book slightly more than I want to when I'm trying to find something.

Just curious! (I'm especially interested in Werewolf, but if you ran another system I'm still all ears.)

I know the mechanics conflict with the lore in some places (not having gifts, different use of rage rolls, etc) but I'm mostly curious about how the simplified combat and damage roll rules hold up under longer stretches of play. (ie: Damage amounts aren't rolled separately from the attack and aren't affected by weapon types, a successful soak roll just halves incoming damage.)

Has anyone repaired a book before, or does anyone have a good resource on the topic? Got a... shall we say well-loved old book today, and it looks like the band of the spine (the bit with the headband attached, if I'm using book binding terminology right) is loose from the signatures of the text block. The book doesn't feel too bad, but the text block is definitely opening way farther than it should and I'm worried about the integrity of the binding.

For comparison, a healthy spine: Imgur

I'd prefer to avoid doing something drastic like cutting the text block loose to fix it because the book has some
