Bom dia amigos.

Hey r/gamedev!

A friend and I decided to get back to indie game developing. As we both have 9-5 jobs and families, we knew we would be on a pretty tight schedule.

Our first goal was to prove that we could make and publish a game from beginning to launch, testing as many features as possible, from art and coding to ads and analytics.

We wrote three pieces about the process:

Hey r/gamedev!

My friend u/matheusrma and I decided to get back to indie game developing on our free time. As we identify heavily with the Godot development philosophy, we decided to test out the engine with a simple proof of concept game (planned to take the rust out of us too).

The main goal was to prove that we could make games with Godot from beginning to launch. Testing as many features as possible, from art and coding to ads and analytics.

We finally launch the game after 3 months of late night development and Godot was able to check most boxes we wanted, delivering a solid good experience and giving us enough freedom to innovate. We plan to write up a detailed post mortem in th

Hey guys,

In my experience using a physics engine for most 2D games is not a good choice, most of my thoughts relates to these Prime31's (Game Physics section) and GamingHorror's articles.

Nowadays I mostly use HaxeFlixel (AABB based or Nape Physics Engine) for my 2D games. I've used Unity for some games but it's fake 2D, unit based positioning and lot's of workarounds to work with pixel art really annoys me. Also, not free.

I love Godot's philosophy, it's open-source, seems friendly to pixel coordinates and art, it's rapidly evolving and i

Darkness! Flashes! is a game made for A Game By It's Cover 2015 Game Jam, which is based on a fake art for Famicom game cases.

It's a local-multiplayer versus party game up to 4 players.

You control a outlaw in the middle of a shootout in the darkness. While it's dark, nobody can see each others position. But when a thunder comes, it's time to spot your enemies and hunt them. Be aware, if you shoot you will reveal your position by the muzzle flash of your gun.

I'd really like some real feedbacks on this one. Since launch, it got downloaded 182 times and I only got one feedback via twitter. Me and my friends
