So here’s the situation: turning some simple aluminum disks with only a few features. On the main side is a simple detent interface and on the sub side literally just a necked down diameter from the middle. Almost like a spinning top. Very simple part, both side features are +/- .0004.

The issue is, every 40-70 parts or so, the sub side diameter suddenly increases anywhere from .002 to .015 at the worst instance of this issue. To keep making good parts I of course offset it back down as a bandaid solution to keep the job running. Then, inevitably, the dimension jumps back down making undersized parts. This is after a similar number of parts, but usually less, maybe 30-40. Repeated several

Hey there fellow riders, I have a quick question for anyone that might be able to help me. This evening I took my 2017 Giant Trance 2 in for a free 60 day tuneup from the shop I picked it up from. It also happened to have a broken chain which I was willing to pay for to be fixed while I was there anyway. They ended up charging me $68 for the chain replacement alone. $60 for the chain and $5 for labor plus tax. Does the cost of the new chain seem outrageous? It's for an 11 speed SLX drivetrain and they labeled it as "CHAIN Connex 10S0" on the receipt. When I searched that, I found a few sources, all for under $35. Did I get fleeced? Thanks for reading!

Hey, I recently bought an '04 XR650l, knowing that the baffle is missing, assuming it would be an easy part to replace.

The problem is, I can't seem to find just the baffle on any website. If anyone has one they might be willing to sell, or a link to a source for one, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi guys, I just got my test back for AP computer science, and I'm having trouble understanding a question regarding order of operations in java.

The question is as follows:

What is the result of the following statement? Assume b = 5 and c = 10

int a = b * (-c + 2) / 2;

I was confused mostly by the - sign before int c. If someone could explain this process the computer does to solve this equation step by step, it would help me a lot.

Thanks!

Hi Dual Sport riders! Ever since I got my permit, I've been looking for a dual sport in my area in the price range I can afford. I always liked the DR-Z, but it was a little bit more than I would like to pay for my first street legal bike.

I just found a craigslist ad for a DRZ that looks like it has been crashed, and has a lower price due to that.

I was looking for opinions as to whether or not this particular bike would be worth repairing, or if I should keep looking. Here are some things about me:

  • Ridden Dirt Bikes for years
  • DIY Friendly
  • 16 YO, 5"10" 150Lbs
  • Looking for a commuter, around down mostly
  • Dirt Cheap Budget

Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while, and this is my first post on reddit ever.

Recently, I have acquired a ton of surplus USGI Modular Sleep System bags, including the green patrol bags and the black arctic bags, but only a few bivies.

The question is, if you guys had some spare mummy bags to mess around with, what would you make? I'm talking, quilts, a UQ for a hammock, stripping out the climashield insulation, or anything outside of the box. Any ideas would be appreciated. :)
