I've been going back through old Lord Huron tonight, and that thought hit me hard.
Ben wrote these songs without knowing where they'd eventually land. He couldn't know which song would become attached to someone we lost, an old love, a mistake we still think about, or a version of ourselves that doesn't exist anymore.
He gave us the words for longing, regret, ghosts, roads not taken, and lives that might have been.
Then we filled them with names.
For me, there are LH songs I can't hear anymore without a very specific person or period of my life appearing immediately.
So I'm curious:

Sitting here listening to old LH tonight and getting stupidly excited for Chicago in December.
It’s wild going back through the older stuff now knowing how much this whole world has grown. Songs I’ve listened to a hundred times hit differently once you’ve gone down all the lore rabbit holes.
Also fully planning to wear my George Ranger Johnson hoodie to VIP because there may never be a more appropriate occasion.

We just brought on a new hire who claims 15 years of experience. He’s been here all of 3 days and is already walking around like he’s got it all figured out — telling subs how to run their work, questioning processes, acting like he’s the authority on everything.

I’ve been in this business 26 years. I’ve seen good people, bad people, and plenty in between — but it never ceases to amaze me how fast some folks come in swinging like they’re God’s gift to construction management.

Maybe slow down, learn how this team operates, earn some trust, then start offering “expertise”? Instead, it’s chest-puffing from day one.

Anyone else dealt with a know-it-all who barely makes it through orientatio

Hopefully booking this week with a sitter for a week long stay with my 2 dogs. I've seen many posts about questions sitters like to ask and writing down a detailed list about each pup. Anything else I can do to make things go smoothly for a meet and greet and hopefully eventual stay?

I live in IL but often prefer to see shows in Milwaukee vs Chicago. So I am thrilled to have scored 10th row center via the presale. Hotel booked. Anyone want to meet up before the show for drinks hit me up.

Have only seen them once at the Chicago Theater and the show sucked from where my seats were. Was determined not to be surrounded by people who sat the whole show and knew only The Night We Met and talked the whole time.
