I'm running multiple Azure VMs, all in the West Europe region. All of them are joined to MEDS (Microsoft Entra Domain Services).
When I try to change the time zone I see the usual message that "some settings are managed by your organization".
All advise I find online seems to point to non-existent GPO items or other stuff that doesn't exist.
What is the proper centralized way to set the time zone on MEDS joined VMs?
My recent work experience has granted me quite an understanding and familiarity with Azure Application Gateway. I have now reached the level where I feel completely familiar with this cloud offering, to the point that I'm looking for a self-hosted solution to mimic this experience at home.
The Azure Application Gateway requires the configuration of the following entities for each "route" you wish to instate:
- Backend pool -> Points to where the service lives.
- Backend settings -> Here you configure exactly how the gateway talks to the service (port, IP, protocol, certificate, URL overrides...)
- Listeners -> Here you configure how the route is exposed
- Rules -> Basically matches a backe
First things first, I know my title is awful and I should be ashamed of it. I'm not though, and even more so I freely admit it was intentional.
I have a Samsung 55inch QN95C TV and I'm looking for a wood frame, along the lines of the ones available for Samsung's The Frame TV.
Are there any options apart from the ridiculously expensive offerings from Leon?
I want to deploy a few custom made ESPHome devices with screens and I'm trying to figure if there's an easy way to create a simple GUI for them.
So far the only thing I've found is the libraries provided by ESPHome (like LVGL), which would cover my needs, but require everything to be setup in config/code.
My ideal solution would be something like an LVGL editor that would output something I can put into an ESPHome config.
Does such a thing exist?
I'm using a cloud app that pulls users' details from Entra ID via an App Registration.
The only properties pulled are First Name, Last Name and Email (primary).
For some reason I want to change the primary email address to something else than the "username" created in my tenant for the user. This is mainly because these users are cloud-only and have no mailbox (or even an Exchange license for that matter).
I have been able to change the primary email address for some users, but for others it appears that the change has no effect.
I have also tried to set the proper email address in the Other Mails property but my app doesn't pull this.
The thing is that my cloud app is using this featur

I'm the SYSADM in a small-ish company and we have quite a few people that basically remote into machines all day as part of their work.
We really want to adopt Bitwarden as our company-wide password manager, but at the same time we must find a remote connection management app that is going to integrate with it.
One option is Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager, but the cost is too high. Are there any alternatives?
I'm looking to purchase a new notebook and I've settled on A5 size. I also want it to be spiral bound (that 180 openning...) and fairly thick. I've already had the Rhodia Business and a couple of Mnemosyne. Any ideas?
I have a VM on Azure that has a Public IP address assigned to it. Actually both the Public IP Address and the Private one are assigned to a single NIC that is in turn assigned to the VM.
Now, I'm trying to initiate a telnet from inside the VM, towards an external host, that needs the traffic to originate from the specific Public IP Address I'm using (they have whitelisted this IP).
So far this doesn't appear to be working. The connection always fails with time-out.
Now, I have created the required rule for outbound traffic in the Network settings for the VM to allow the specific port.
What could be the cause here?
We have an Azure SQL Server instance (managed) that is being talked to by both internal Azure assets and external services. A requirement came in to have these external communications be over VPN.
To facilitate this I enabled the "Private Access" option for the SQL Server and created a Private Endpoint, as prompted by Azure. This immediately worked and the server was accessible by any internal or external asset that could route to the correct VNET, using the Private Endpoint's IP address. Unfortunately this caused the FQDN that Azure provides for the SQL server to immediately become unusable, making it imperative to replace it with the Private Endpoint IP in every place where it was ever co
I'm looking to purchase my first e-ink device, a tablet, and I have the following requirements:
- I need to be able to install any reading, note-taking and file-sharing app I might want to. Currently I have books on both Play and Kindle. I use all 3 of G Drive, Onedrive, Dropbox. I use Samsung notes, OneNote, Obsidian, Keep.
- Having Play officially installed would be extra nice, but not necessary if the previous point is covered some way or another.
- I need a pen and I need it to be as best as possible. This is really important for me.
Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s).
Right now my firewall allows SSH from outside towards only a single inside node, that is my designated jumpbox. From that node I can then freely SSH towards any other internal node.
At the same time, I can freely SSH from any one internal node towards any one of the others, not just from the jumpbox.
What I want is to NOT be able to SSH to any internal node, except from the jumpbox.
My preference is to configure this on the firewall/router or the switch (L3), instead of on the individual nodes.
I need to copy a very large file (many 10s of GB) from a remote machine to which I have only RDP access.
The machine is accessible from VMs in my Azure environment and I can RDP normally.
I have been researching "azcopy" for this purpose, but so far I haven't found a scenario that would work.
I'm looking for a pre-built ready-to-use relay board that is based on the ESP32 and can be powered with PoE.
I have found this, which is excellent, apart from the fact it's not ESP32 based:
https://www.waveshare.com/Modbus-POE-ETH-Relay.htm
The ESP32 requirement is obviously for ESPHome.
Any suggestions?
