Advice needed and welcomed!
I have an appointment with a new primary care doctor next week. I want to request blood work - including my A1C, iron, etc. Is there anything else I should request? I have seen mention of c-peptides on this sub, but I don’t know what it is. What other data points would be helpful?
My last A1C reading was 6.0 in November, but I lost 20 lbs and am working on the next 10-15 lbs, so I’m hoping for an improvement.
This is my first round of Whole30. One thing I really appreciate is that this diet has forced me to actually cook every meal from scratch and not only that, plan ahead for my recipes.
For most of my life, the only ‘cooking’ I did was in the form of boiling pasta, making eggs or just heating stuff up in a pan. I took the path of least resistance to food. Very rarely did I make 3 scratch meals a day on my own.
Whole30 has forced me to confront my lack of interest in cooking. It has also given me a ton of confidence and like any skill, I think I’m getting better over time. I really look forward to continuing this beyond Whole30.
I wanted to share and see if anyone else felt the same way.
My doctor is very conservative and decided to test my A1C levels at my dating scan. The results came back at 5.8, slightly higher than the 5.7 A1C threshold. He states that it is likely I will be diagnosed with GD.
Prior to these results, I had been feeling super fatigued, especially in the mornings and had a lot of nausea, leading me to eat less. A day after my appointment, I woke up and my vision was a bit blurry. All this to say, the A1C results seem to line up with what I now know are issues with my sugar levels. I had been chalking it up to first trimester symptoms.
My doctor scheduled me to take a glucose tolerance test next week at 8+5. I'll find out if I have an 'official' diagnos
Hi all! New seller here. I apologize if this question is a bit amateur. Mods, please feel free to delete if it belongs elsewhere.
I have an item that ways a little less than 8 oz on its own, so I input 8 oz as the package weight on Mercari. However, I forgot to account for packaging.
The item was just sold. I packaged it up and now it weighs over 11 oz. (The envelope is padded and I think I used too much tape and tissue paper.)
The Mercari website says I can hit the edit button on the Order page to update the shipping weight. However, when I click edit, it only allows me to update my mailing address.
Am I missing something? Is there not a way to edit the shipping weight? I have not y
I’ll be honest - I didn’t have that much weight to lose, but I knew I was unhappy. My face was puffy all of the time. There were days where I had to leave work early and sit on the couch with a heating pad because of indigestion. I wasn’t getting enough vegetables or protein in my diet. I wanted to look good AND feel good.
Enter, Keto. I have known about this WOE for a few years, thanks to reddit, but I never thought I could do it. Ridding my diet of carbs seemed impossible. One day, after a particularly inspired grocery shopping trip, I decided to dive head first into lazy Keto. This is a graph of my first 90 days.
I definitely ch
Hi all - I've happily been a StraightTalk user for over 5 years. I was browsing r/frugal about 9 months ago when I saw someone recommend Cheaper Change to purchase refills. Cheaper Change offered a 90-day refill for only $105. If it sounds too good to be true, that is because it is. I knew that some of the email communications from the website were sketchy in that they didn't seem polished, but the phone was working and had been working for months. I felt like I was getting a good deal, so I ignored my intuition.
Last night, I tried to call someone and I got directed to StraightTalk customer service immediately. They
Hi r/homemaking! I am new to this subreddit, but I was directed here after looking for some organizing ideas.
I want to start by saying that I am a Konmari convert and a big r/declutter poster, so I do not have a lot of crap - that is not the issue here. In fact, I do not want to purchase a storage solution, which is why I am struggling to figure out where to put this stuff.
-
Hair Dryer - My bathroom has no storage aside from a medicine cabinet. I want it to be accessible because I use it so often.
-
School Binders - At any given time, I have about 2-3 binders for whatever courses I'm currently taking. I don't have a bookshelf. I keep the 4-5 books we own in the TV console storage,
My landlord failed to provide an essential service. There was no running water in my kitchen sink for three weeks. According to the municipal code and ordinances in my city, this is a basic need. I was speaking to a lawyer at a party and he called this a "_____ eviction." I can't remember the word he used and I'm looking to use it in a letter I'm drafting to my landlord.
I can't recall what the exact term was, but he basically explained it this way... Because they failed to provide the essential service, it was as if I was evicted. I know this sounds vague, so please let me know if you have any questions.
Hi everyone!
I had a bedbug scare in October of 2015. After consulting reddit, I obviously purchased Cimexa, which is a very effective dust that kills bedbugs. My PCO's believe that I picked up a hitchhiker and only found two. It was a problem that was resolved rather quickly.
I really don't need the Cimexa anymore. I put it down in my small apartment, but there is still more than half the bottle left. As far as I understand, it's not something I have to constantly reapply and I am not as paranoid as I once was.
I am willing to ship it completely free of cost to someone who meets the following criteria.
- You promise to use it responsibly. The dust is pretty potent if you use too much
Hi everyone! I can't make the Saturday Phish show because I didn't realize a friend's wedding fell on the same day. My loss is your gain!
I have a pair of tickets in Aisle 202, Row 29, Seats 3 & 4. I want to sell them for what I paid, $150. These are great seats in the left field.
I have the actual hard copy tickets with hologram, not print-at-home version. I live in Lakeview and am willing to deliver or meet somewhere within the city, as well as Skokie area.
I have a couple bridesmaid dresses that I know I will for sure never wear again. I was thinking of posting them on my local Facebook garage sale group, but I don't know if that would be the right audience.
They were both minimally altered (shortened straps, moved halter clasp) and my seamstress made sure not to remove any material, so it would be easy to let it go if necessary. One is David's Bridal, one is Bill Levkoff and both are short chiffon material.
I saw that PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com has a bridesmaid section. Has anyone had any luck on there versus eBay or Facebook groups? I'm not looking to make that much money off of them ($40-60, if possible).
Hi crafters!
I'd like to do something like this, but I do not own a Silhouette or Cricut machine and software. I really do not want to have to purchase one, but I am willing to pay for use.
-
Do Michael's or other craft stores offer use of a machine like this for a fee? Would it be possible to do something similar at a FedEx or Kinko's store? I know they have various printing machines.
-
I live in a major city. How can I get in touch with crafters who might be willing to cut something for me? (Again, I am willing to pay.)
-
How complex would it be to trace a stencil and cut by hand? I think this is what I'm leaning
Hi everyone! I'm thinking ahead to Christmas. I'd like to make ornaments for some of my family members.
I would like to write on the ornaments, like the last one on this page.
Would metallic permanent markers work? Do you have recommendations for paint markers? What if I were to use plastic ornaments versus glass?
This is my first time posting on r/crafts, so sorry if I'm a newb :P
Hi everyone, I'm back. Post-spray #1, pre-spray #2.
I discovered an adult bed bug on October 3 - not sure anymore whether it was male or female. I found very early stage nymphs biting me in my bed on October 7. I got sprayed on October 9. Since then, I only found one exoskeleton. My roommate found a dead bug and exoskeleton in her room as well.
I have since discarded my mattress pad, sealed my pillows and other miscellaneous bedding and added bed bug covers to both my mattress and box spring.
I am getting sprayed again on October 19. How long before I can safely move my clothi
