I have a limited quantity of some mohair that I want to knit into a rectangular shawl. Is there a way to estimate what measurements would maximise the size I could make it?

If I make a swatch would it be easier to estimate with weight or dimensions?

I'm looking for lace figures to use in a circular shawl.

I'm attempting to knit a circular shawl based on the swirl pattern by Derya Davenport. It's essentially increasing 8 stitches in every two rows. So I have divided the circle in 8 sections and I have increased at the second stitch of each section. Each section is vaguely triangular.

However all of the lace figures I can find are more rectangular and I can't find things that take into account the increases.

Does anyone have any suggestions or resources for adding patterns to a circular project?

Hello y'all.

I want to make a scarf knit along the long axis. I have 800 meters of yarn. I'd like the scarf to use up all the yarn and I'd like to have as close to a 5:1 ratio as possible.

Is there a way to figure out how many stitches to cast on?

I think that I should be able to solve the 5th row. (Matching corner tags mean 1innocent, 1 criminal) Because of Nancy's clue and Zach's clue >!Xavi is innocent!< but it won't let me mark him as so.

Can you explain why?

I'm confused as to why I can't move forward. The clues say both that there are exactly three innocents in row 5 and that Sam has exactly 4 innocent neighbours.

As well, if I attempt to designate any of row 5 as innocent, it tells me I don't have enough information to determine status.

Help?

It happened to me again today. I mentioned in the chat group for today's training class that I'm still fighting a migraine.

The immediate response from another student was "Try some water and something sweet."

My immediate thought was "Really, you dumbf**k? I've been in angonizing pain, unsteady on my feet, unable to sleep and unable to drive for 4 days because I haven't eaten something sweet?"

Fortunately this class was online and not in person because I would have thrown up on him outa spite.

I managed to dial back my response to "It would be nice if that worked. This is day 4."

He didn't respond.

Hello all. I'm hoping for some advice from electricity knowledgeable people.

I've discovered some chewing damage to the cable for my built in dishwasher so have booked an electrician to come to my house.

The cable goes through a small hole in the floor and then travels along the ceiling of the basement. There doesn't appear to be damage to the cable in the basement.

My husband says we should have them place a junction box close to the hole in the floor on the basement ceiling. I thought we would need a new cable directly from the circuit breaker box.

What would you recommend?

Also I am in the Durham Region of Ontario. Does anyone have any idea how much it will cost?
