I've been living in Ashburn for quite a while, and while I like the area, the wife wants something a bit closer to DC in the eventuality she will return to work.
We have a nine-month old infant and like to go for walks and explore as much as possible. I work from home so there is no incentive to live close to anyplace that I work.
Even though I've been in NOVA for 20 years, I have no idea what parts of Alexandria or Arlington would be good or a small family in our late 30s.
I see Del Ray and other places mentioned for those in their 20s and other areas for nightlife but we don't really need the nightlife scene - just walkability, proximity to stores/groceries, access to the metro, and goo
The background music playing in S9E01 during the fight between Rick and Evil Morty - anyone know what it is?
I know they put some bangers in the previous seasons that are on my Spotify playlist.
Hello,
My wife (Chinese) just gave birth last week in Hong Kong, and we are starting all the paperwork required for the baby. I am a US citizen staying here for a little bit under a dependent visa, and we are looking for some advice on navigating immigration process for the baby. She is not a permanent resident but living and working here through 2027 (contracted).
Our understanding is that because he was born to my wife, who is a Chinese national, that makes him a Chinese national and considered a permanent resident/has the right to abode in HK. We had planned on going through the process of applying for his HKSAR passport/citizenship while we wait to navigate through the US citizenship p
In the process of planning to upgrade a pair of FG-201F, and saw that 7.4.8 was the latest recommended.
However, some posts here have suggested waiting on 7.4.9 to be released, though some comments I saw said to upgrade to 7.2.11 if I wanted to stay on a newer firmware version until the next release.
Thoughts?
Hi all,
Been testing MAAS quite a bit and wanted some guidance on a couple things that I could not find an answer for yet if anyone has any feedback:
- The latest version of MAAS is enlisting/commissioning nodes with legacy network interface names (eth0) and Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 is supposed to default to predictable network interfaces names (en0p1). Why is MAAS using legacy names, and can you change it to use predictable network interfaces?
- Is it possible for MAAS to not use randomly auto-generated hostnames, but follow a template to name them to with a specific prefix or schema?
I do plan to use Ansible post-MAAS so these two things aren't exactly deal breakers, but it would save a bit
USBC PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH NEW ELITE TOURNAMENT OFFERINGS, U22 MASTERS AND QUEENS
bowl.com/tournaments/u22-masters-queensHad the opportunity to bowl with some of the pros today at the Bud Moore PBA50 Players Championship here in Sterling, Virginia.
Shared a lane with Chris Barnes, Joe Scarborough, and Michael Haugen Jr.. Also got to talk to Parker Bohn III and Walter Ray Williams Jr.
Tomorrow they start the first round of qualifying! It will be fun to watch them bowl in person.
Based on a bunch of recent threads here, it is very disappointing that so many bowlers have no integrity to follow the rules whether they are in a casual league or a competitive league. It blows my mind - and we wonder why bowling is a dying sport.
Whether you agree with the rules and equipment specifications doesn't matter. You should be following the rules. If you have a problem with the rules then you should be volunteering with your local association and/or national association to bring change. You as a sanctioned bowler have every right to attend the local association annual meeting and submit proposals to be voted on at the annual convention every year.
I totally understand that not
