I just got my copy of the 2016 Songwriter's Market and read through the front section with advice from more seasoned pros. Performance royalties are where it's at these days for income streams as mechanical royalties from album sales has dwindled. There's a specific passage where the recommendation before you can get major placements in film or tv it could be beneficial to get placements in smaller, more independent productions.
My question is how do you find these opportunities? I know for someone at my amateur level I could try Taxi.com or SongU as they have advertised placements. But those seem to be for larger productions with more fierce competition (most of us write those two off as s

So I'm going to make him a CD (or other media?) playlist. I started playing slide because of Robert Johnson and I plan on putting "Crossroads" on there but what else should I consider?
Hey all, my training partner and I were having a discussion last night and I thought maybe you could help.
Here's some background: We're a small Pure Krav Maga class that operates out of Wing Chun Kung Fu school. The Wing Chun guy started the place because he needed people to train with. Eventually he picked up PKM and got certified as an instructor by Boaz Aviram. My training partner took the class last year and this spring was also certified as an instructor by Boaz. I started about 6 months ago.
Here's the problem we're having, my class was probably 6 to 8 people. My training partner's was 12 to 14. And we are the only two from each of those classes that has stuck with it. The 2 subsequ

First off, believe there's no one you can't get.
You'll capture someone: Simply lay the net.
A hound would sooner scarper from a bunny
or grasshoppers stop singing when it's sunny
than any girl would pass up your advance -
even proposals you don't think she wants.
Discreet sex please woman, just as man;
she merely hides it better than he can.
It's better that the man express his need
than that a smitten woman take the lead
The cow lows for her bull over the cud;
the mare neighs for her horny-footed stud.
