Do the usual things.. Set defaults, choose the bios file, would you like to flash, yes, then I get the bar at the bottom saying processing and the computer immediately resets, but not a full boot. Its "on" but nothing on the display, and the keyboard is still dark, etc. Red indicator on the motherboard. Doesnt matter how long I wait.

So I figured I would try the crashfree bios method. Nothing. Does not detect a bios and just boots normally. And yes I renamed the file and have it in the root of the drive and plugged into the correct port, etc etc.

Anyone else having issues with version 3042? Any ideas on how to fix this?

I installed BIOS 3024, and had been maybe 2 versions behind, and after the update process the computer was stuck at the "press del or f2 for enter bios" screen (and neither of those keys did anything). Eventually figured out that unplugging the hard drive allowed me to boot the computer past that screen.

After setting up the BIOS and replugging in the hard drive it booted fine, but then another issue started happening. The computer would run fine all day, but as soon as I turned the display off, some time after (havent measured, but within half an hour) the computer would shut down. I have the power settings set to always stay on so this is odd. And to turn the computer back on, the power

So I was helping a friend with an upgrade and ran out of sata power connectors, and it has an Antec modular power supply, and accidentally used an EVGA power cable. Both are 6 pin and it fit in fine, but obviously its wired differently (doh). And so now the hard drive wont even spin.

I am hoping a circuit board replacement can fix it and have ordered one, but that could take a few weeks and my friend is very pissed off, so I'm wondering if there are any components I can test, solder on, that may fix it before the replacement comes? I am not an electronics guy, but have a multimeter and have soldered/desoldered many things in the past when knowing what to do.

If I could be given some candi

So I want to have my PC hooked up to my desktop monitor (which is a TV) and also my livingroom TV at the same time, and be able to switch between them without unplugging and plugging in a cable every time, so the port and cables dont wear out. I need to swap the cable like this because there is only one HDMI port on the videocard, and the TVs only support VRR/gsync/etc with straight HDMI, not displayport to HDMI adapters. The fiber cable is needed because the TV is a fair distance from the PC and needs a good quality UHD cable.

I have tried two different a/b switches from Amazon and neither work with the fiber cable.

I don't know if its because its not getting enough power from the switc
