I just completed the X1C resistor mod (33 ohm) to get above 300C.
I have an Ames (CM200A) brand DMM that came with a temp probe/thermistor. I was able to jam it in the hotend as far as where the stock thermistor sits. I logged a bunch of temps against the stock readings, and it didn't register as much of a difference as I expected.
I know my setup and DMM aren't exactly lab grade. Temps were in parity up to about 280C, but only ended up about 7C higher than settings at 300C. Last few readings were as follows:
| Stock | DMM |
|---|---|
| 270 | 271 |
| 280 | 282 |
| 290 | 294 |
| 300 | 307 |
Was curious if anyone else made the effort to validate the temp curve for the resistor mod. I did wait for the firmwar
It would be nice to have Heat Deflection (HDT) as a sortable material property. I don't use TD values for anything so I've been using that entry field to track HDT of all my spools.
Obligatory Thanks for all you do! Site is both awesome, and horrible (for the nerdy tinkerers that have an obsession on organization and spend too much time playing with data instead of printing... 😅)
I gave my Al D4V2 to my brother after I thought I lost it in 2020, and bought a D4V2 Ti.
A series of unfortunate events lead to the Al... well... sitting on a grill grate in a closed grill with red hot coals for 30+ min before its discovery. Amazingly (no offence Hank) it was still shining bright! But clearly down for the count. Below below is a recantation of the event, but my TL:DR is immediately below.
Will the D4V2 tube and tail cap work with a DT8K head? If so, where can I source one to reuse the existing, battle worn components? JLHawaii?
Once we extracted it from the grill and placed it on a suitable plot of wet grass, it slowly started flickering wildly. Sucker stayed on for
Semi-distant relative passed and my family helped sort out the estate. Person was... eccentric. We ended up finding about 200lbs (in # labeled boxes) of random loose US coins. Seemed they just emptied their pockets into boxes and let them sit.
Family gave them to me, knowing that I used to CRH for silver half dollars mainly because they didn't want to deal with them. I know 98% of these coins will have zero numismatic value above face value, but I hate the idea of missing a diamond in the rough!
My current plan is to separate all the "copper" pennies (plenty of both pre and post - 1982) in my spare time, while watching shows or something. Aside from that I don't know what to target.

Working through printing all the pieces needed for the Menendez V3.0, and came across the "cut tool" in the Developer Resources. I didn't see any reference or mention in the readme files. I assume it is a jig or tool to trim the feed lip plates, but wasn't sure.
Was looking for clarification before I printed them. Not that it's a sink of resources, but if I didn't have a use for them, etc.
I see Hatchbox is running a sale on their PLA MAX V2. Is it worth messing with for the fosscad realm?
I've had good luck with the typical Polymaker PLA Pro, and eSUN PLA Pro. Is this PLA MAX V2 anywhere in the same realm?
I re-discovered my Kerlink iFemtoCell 915 in the attic that I installed maybe 4 years ago. I updated my network about a year ago and completely forgot it was up there. So I know it hasn't been managed since at least then, likely much longer.
Everything I've tried to re-onboard this thing isn't working. I remember having hell the first time too!
Is this miner not worth the trouble at this point? Since I have it, I'd like to have it up and running, even if it's not profitable. I can't seem to find ANY videos on youtube setting one of these things up. Every time I plug in the MAC and Board ID into Kerlink's onboarding page it give me an error page with kittens...
Any advice or thoughts is a
I hold several Fidelity mutual funds in my ROTH IRA (FZROX, FXNAX, etc.). I know that orders submitted are executed after market closes. My question is about when the orders are executed.
I've read in several posts on here, and other sites, that if you get an order in before ~4:00PM that the order will be executed with that day's price. After ~4:00PM it will execute with the new updated price after market close.
I've been noticing that it doesn't seem to be working like that for me. So yesterday I set an order to buy a dollar amount equaling exactly one share before market open: $20.96 at 7:49am CST.
Checked my account this morning, and while the order activity page doesn't give me the
I've been looking for more home theater related podcasts or youtube channels. Interested in what people in this sub are tuning into.
I've been catching The AV Experience with Ryan and Jonathan weekly when I can. I'm a long time lurker on avsforum.com and they both are frequent users. Jonathan is big into DIY, which is a passion shared. Both have beast home theaters, Ryan's vendor funded (The madVR Experience Center), and Jonathan's has a heap of DIY stuff.
I search around and try to catch anything with Anthony Grimani. He's a notable acoustics professional, and helped write the code for Dolby Digital EX (6.1). Wealth of acoustics and industry knowledge. He often guests on other's podcasts
Looking for cobblers or boot repair places that are still around in the Omaha Metro.
I have some Wolverine full leather boots that I'd like resoled. I had whatever third party guy at Haney shoes resole a pair of Red Wings and he did a terrible job, so Haney's out. Had a family member have a horrible experience with Andy's Shoe Repair on Grover. Unless someone has some pictures of a legit boot repair from them, I'm out on that shop as well.
TLDR: Any other tips to restart fermentation at 1.002 - or is that just too low to get it going again without adding sugars?
Based on the recipe in this video:

Followed the video except for the nutrients (which I'm gathering may have been my mistake). I omitted the nutrients as I had read in a few forums that the slower the ferment for ciders, the better - so nutrients aren't generally needed. I wasn't in a rush - but now I'm stressin about it.
