Kids 8 and 10. We could have about $200 every month for entertainment or save up the $2600 for annual vacation or something like that. This includes dine out. Thanks!
I encountered the "manifest stale, please re-request" error when trying to view my video clips. I found that a few people had the same issues and so far their root causes were either the USB drive malfunctioned or the Sync Module was in a weird state and required reboot.
In my case, it was neither of those. It was due to bad 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. My router is dual band, and the 5GHz works fine, but somehow the 2.4GHz was deteriorating but was still good enough to detect the cameras. That's why I didn't think that the Wi-Fi is the problem. I got lucky that my printer was also having issue with the 2.4GHz, that got me thinking about it. So I put a new Wi-Fi with auto band-switching and voila problem
$160k/yr is twice California median household income. Let that sink in.

reddit.com/gallery/wz8wzxA bit of background: Just like anyone else, we want something reliable when it comes to the stuff that are not easily replaced such as major appliances. I ran into Speed Queen when researching w&d online, and I was sold by the fact that people praise their simplicity, durability, and longevity. So I decided to spend almost $1k more than I would've spent on other brands, and after exactly a month, I've concluded that this was a mistake.
Disclaimer first: this post does not intend to point out that Speed Queen not as reliable/good as people claimed that they are. It is just that considering the price and features, they may not be suitable to some.
First is the price. As I've mentioned,
Hello,
I hooked up a water pressure gauge on one of my faucet, shut off the input main valve, left it for two hours without anyone home, and found the pressure dropped 20 psi, that means 100% I have leak somewhere then?
The water district where I live use Aquahawk, and we do get zero reading a few hours through out the day, especially when we are asleep night time. But we seem to use more water than our neighbor, so we are worried about some leaks.
Thanks!
It turns out we use almost 7000 gallons monthly. The district conservation goal is 4700 gallons. We are family of 4. We work from home for about 6 days total a week. No lawn. I'm worried I have a leak somewhere.
Thanks!
Edit: It turns out where I live the water district use Aquahawk. Aquahawk gives hourly reading and if there are hours (usually 12AM - 6AM) with zero gallons, that means no leak. So the good news is I don't have water leak because we have zero readings when we are sleeping and no one home in the afternoon. The bad thing is that we still use too much. Although according to EPA, 2000 gallons is the average monthly usage per person.
Thanks again for all the feedbac
Not sure if this is me just having a bad luck, or we do actually have problems on big items, mainly appliances, delivery. After COVID, our appliances started showing their age and we've ordered a refrigerator, washer & dryer, and an overhead-microwave oven. For each of them, there were always problems with the orders and/or delivery.
With the fridge, they brought the item, but not the people to bring it up to the second floor even after I specifically told them (Lowe's about it). So they had to reschedule, but they didn't call me back. Had to spend 1 hour to get the date & time.
With the washer & dryer, an auto-call called the day before at 8PM to give a 4-hr window, but the n
I have a 10-yr old Wilkins NR3XL 1" and my current water pressure is 75 PSI. So I am thinking to replace it. So my questions are:
- The pressure reducing valve is very accessible so it looks like a pretty easy job. Just shut off the main water valve, loosen two nuts, replace the regulator and tighten the nuts. At least that's what I saw on YT, or this is to good to be true?
- The part seem to be widely available at Lowe's or HD, or even Amazon. But I don't understand all the connector/joint terms such as FIP, FNPT, Copper Sweat etc. How do I know which one I should buy? (pic below). I'm trying to avoid taking apart the valve first and take it to HD/Lowe's as a sample. I want to use the same
We've had a Whirlpool pair that lasted 10+ years. Our last pair was GE front-load and has served us well, except the dryer didn't work at one point and came back to life. After some research I decided to spend $1000 extra on the Speed Queen TC5 and DC5 (electric). This is the first week review:
Features: the SQ Classic machines are as bare metal as they get. A couple more features that we miss from more modern machines are the delayed-start and moisture sensor (for the dryer):
- The delay start is very useful because we do our laundry in the evening and if it was too late (due to noise) to start the dryer, I just used the delayed-start feature.
- The control dials on SQ DC5 are pretty fini
I never understood all the rage about IPA. Most/all IPA I drank were very overpowering and bitter. Heard about the Russian River's Pliny the Elder a while back. They were very popular but hard to come back then, but a few weeks ago this guy bought a case of it from Total Wine. So today I decided to grab one today and now I know why this particular IPA is very popular. To me it has just the right hop and not bitter like most IPA I've tried in the past. Perfect balance.
So if you've tried IPA before and didn't like it because of the same reasons I mention above, give Pliny the Elder a try. You might change your mind. (No, I don't get paid to advertise this :). Still prefer stout, porter, or l
We are going to Mendocino and Fort Bragg and have a few questions:
- From 101, should I take 128 or 20 to Hwy 1? From Google Map, it looks like 20 is more friendlier drive. We are driving with a couple children.
- Which beaches or places you recommend?
- How's the parking situation? Is it hard to find parking there? We are going after 4th of July.
- Good restaurants?
- Other things?
Thanks in advance!
