I only play the gravship start, it's the Rimworld experience I've always wanted. When I try for a more difficult run than Strive to Survive (custom setup, threat scale at 115% and research at 80%), I have almost always wiped right as I transition into Hi-tech Research Bench technologies. Every time this has been an "early" raid within 24 hours of landing on a new tile. My first priority upon landing is walling in the gravship and creating rudimentary kill boxes. If I have enough time to complete this, usually a bit over 24 hours, I'm fine. But, if I get a nasty raid before then, I often lose everyone.

For example, the last run ended right as I unlocked Hi-tech Research Bench. I had 7 pawns,

The AIT is a ton of fun and a thoroughly enjoyable way to experience the books. But, it has its swings and misses. Original content is hard, and some of the AIT content diminishes the story a bit.

But, oh man, when it hits, it really hits. Yesterday's episode, covering the final part of DAC, is one of these moments. In particular, the Doom1-soundtrack-esque backing music elevates the narration far beyond the already exceptional audiobooks.

Congrats AIT team, you nailed it. Chef's. Fucking. Kiss.

As a long time Wheel of Time fan and r/television lurker, I know the future of this sub. Specifically: necessary decisions for adaptation will piss off the low functioning "fans", resulting in ceaseless comments and posts made in bad faith.

Pretty much any recent major adaptation to TV has resulted in a "quarantine" sub where those that cannot be civil are allowed to post their nonsense.

For WoT, we used the term "bookcloak" which borrowed from the in-world, extra dumb bad guys (Whitecloaks). They were relegated to r/Whitecloaks until Reddit shut that sub down for terrible mod behavior. For fun read, see:

Subpar map generation versus civ5

:Population: Discussion

Any tips/mods for making unciv generate maps more similar to civ5?

Specifically resource, especially luxury, placement and volume. Comparing to civ5, Unciv seems to generate maps with less total resources and clusters of similar resources.

In a typical civ5 game (I've played through the first 100 turns on hundreds of civ5 games), I can find 6+ good nearby city locations from my capitol. With Unciv, I'm lucky to find one.

Wild Forsaken Theory

SpoilerBook Spoilers

You know how Rhavin has been fooling everyone into believing they've known and liked/loved him for years? You can see it when anyone interacts with him, there's a brief pause and moment of confusion just prior to his Compulsion kicking in.

Well, I think that same Compulsion mechanic has been happening somewhere else! Many of the recent Moiraine interactions have had a similar moment.

I think I've pinned it down, the pauses happen whenever she's wearing that hat!

The Forsaken is the hat!!!

Free idea! Collab with city animal control or the humane society for an exhibit of adoptable doggos. Plenty of people enjoy watching dogs, it slightly increases capacity, and it is a great way to facilitate adoption. Hell, paint them like pandas and riff off of the zeitgeist - that would be a big draw.

I will forever regret missing last year's show w/ Droid Bishop (I had already pre-paid on airfare and hotel to the opposite side of the country). I know last year's show was announced sometime in October. But, perhaps someone here knows if they are planning to do a NYE show this year? The last tour date for this year is October, so theoretically plenty of time to recoup before a possible NYE event.
