Is there something we are missing that's causing Otter not to play? Hasn't played a single minute yet he's being listed as the backup almost every game.

I thought with a 5-0 lead he'd get the 3rd period today. Maybe Otter waived it off bc Helly is sitting on a SO but, even then, put Otter in after a goal is allowed. I know it's not ideal for Otter but I would think it'd be better to get some ice time in the Olympics than 0. Not to mention that if he's truly the backup it would be nice to get him a little work before the gold medal match just in case.

It's just frustrating to see the way it's playing out for Otter. Going all the way there to never get on the ice. Especially when S

So many trade threads and tweets are coming out without any understanding of the leverage the Stars have on Robo.

  1. Robo is currently 3rd in the NHL in goals. He's a major piece of any Cup run we'd possibly make.

  2. It's highly unlikely Nill would trade him AT ALL just based on his production and team chemistry.

  3. This is the big one: He's an RFA. If another team signs him this off-season, the Stars will get MAJOR draft compensation. Over $11.7 AAV (what Robo is looking for and worth) and Stars will get 4 first round picks. $9.4-$11.7 AAV and they'll get 2 firsts, one 2nd, and one 3rd.

Trading him off of a Cup contender at the deadline this season would require an ab

Given that teams play 5v4 on the PK all the time and the chances of scoring are still only like 25-30%, why don't teams cherry pick more in 5v5 by placing a forward between the center and opposing blue line? It seems like this would put the other team in an interesting position of either respecting it and playing 4v4 in the O zone or being exposed to the defense getting the puck and making a head man pass for a breakaway.

Lately I am noticing that I'm listening and completely punching out for long periods of time. I kind of realized it and it started me asking myself why that is. Honestly, the answer is that the quality is way down. I have really enjoyed supporting the boys on this new adventure but the last couple months have been really disappointing. Some things that have been bugging me lately:

  • Way too many ads. The live spots are beating me down. I realize the guys are trying to do witty, "just friends talking" ads but it actually takes away from the presentation IMO. I'd rather they just do quick, boring ads in the style of Rogan so that there's less time taken up and more distinction between

I know this topic has been discussed a lot but something I hadn't thought of or seen talked about until now is the question of how much was Cumulus saving with Rhynes & Norm leaving? It seems impossible they didn't realize some cost savings there.

Say what you will about Mike & Norm, they were still 2 out of 9 daily on-air "Tier 1" hosts. For management to then not understand that re-signing D&J would be a priority is just awful business. I realize the guys wanted to create content outside of The Ticket but I also have a hard time believing that couldn't be overcome with a money whip.

When does Luka's weekly show start?

Or would that be unfair to other radio stations because the ad rates The Ticket could charge would destroy the entire radio market?

Like many of us, my introductory conversation to crypto included the "not your keys, not your coins" mantra and a detailed explanation of why cold storage was compulsory for anybody buying crypto.

In the 3 years since that moment, my thoughts on the subject have evolved along with the crypto ecosystem itself to the point where I'm convinced that a hardware wallet is unnecessary at best and a liability at worst for almost all new users to the crypto community. I see far too much "exchange shaming" online towards people who don't use a hardware wallet. Most times, the crypto mafia does nothing to explain the risks of a hardware wallet to new users and instead just tries to b

Man, today's show was awesome. Jake's story about reading, the Leftovers talk, laundry talk. This was probably the best show I've heard Jake & Dan do.

Amazing balance between the serious & absurd. I feel like I just listened to a perfect game.

They deserve a shout out for many reasons but the one I wanted to highlight was the transparency of their Covid-19 website.

https://coronavirus.health.ok.gov/

What I love is that right here on the main page you get full details not only for total # of cases but number of negatives, breakdown by county, age, and other demographics.

The reason I say this is that I do business in New York State, ground zero for Covid. They have essentially the same website address https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home but, instead of listing a full complement of statistics, they choose to tell you "What you Need to Know"

From listening the past few days, I can't get over how extremist they've been regarding Covid-19. Every stat they quote is presented from the extreme worst case scenario. Example: today they reported up to 150 million people could get Covid-19 and then extrapolated to that would kill 4 million people. Then they all talk as if that's the most likely scenario.

I just find it weird that they don't try to be a little more balanced with the rhetoric & tone. Am I wrong guys?
