Noticed within the last few months that there is some music that will have the lossless pill on it, but when clicked, it won't provide any bit depth or sample rate information...

For example, any song in the album "I Fear..." by SZN4.

On iOS, it just says, "Lossless." (vs. something like "16-bit/48 kHz ALAC")

On macOS, it says, "48 kHz ALAC." (vs. something like "16-bit 48 kHz ALAC")

For things available in Hi-Res Lossless, it says instead "Available in Hi-Res Lossless." on iOS and it gives the sample rate on macOS ("48 kHz ALAC")

Anyone experience similar? Any ideas? It makes me question whether the pill is accurate... This seems like a regression and is quite odd.

When Verizon Dollars first launched, it appeared there was no way for Fios customers to sign up (and the FAQ at the time also made it clear that Fios customers were ineligible.) It appears that has changed at some point since the launch, and Fios customers can now signup in the My Verizon app.

According to the terms, Verizon Dollars expire 12 months from issuance, and for a 300 Mbps at $30/mo plan, one is earning .9/mo. At 12 months, that is 10.8 Verizon Dollars. Thankfully, there are rewards in the program starting at 5 Verizon Dollars (and maybe less if you can bank Hotel dollars).

Multiple fios accounts. Bill has always downloaded fine from each one before. Now one is not letting me download.

Tried from:

-https://www.verizon.com/mybill/#/billhome : 1 byte PDF file downloads that is of course unopenable

-https://www.verizon.com/downloadbill/#/download : "We are sorry, we could not process your request. Please try again later"

-https://www.verizon.com/billdetails/#/details?strDate=2026-08-xx : nothing happens

Anyone encountered this before? I am so sick of their awful website and backend.

I'm guessing this is just more of the same metric-chasing nonsense, but I was a bit surprised because this Experience store hasn't given me pushback before and is in the heart of NYC.

They didn't want to take my deferred trade-in and wanted to print out labels to "help me mail it." The manager or whomever on duty made an exception but said the policy changed "a couple weeks ago."

Guessing this isn't true, but just wanted to check. In the future, I am just going to the Signature store...

Something funky going on with the self-host Bitwarden Lite package. Latest tag has not been updated since 2026.7.0. Meanwhile 2026.7.2 has been re-tagged at least twice (which should not happen since it is supposed to be a static release).

Definitely still feels like a beta.

According to support, (support) leadership has passed down to agents that there was a change in July to split-billing for third-party-billed subscriptions. This affects, for example, those who get Hulu through Spotify, T-Mobile, DirecTV. It also seems to affect those who get Disney+ bundle through Kroger Boost.

All in all, this is a huge mess. Their public FAQ has not changed and still indicates that 3rd-party-billed subscribers should be getting their adjustment credit if they sign up for a bundle: https://help.disneyplus.com/article/disneyplus-existing-disney-hulu-espn (Note, the asterisk has to do with the ability to upgrade the bundle through the third-party biller and is irrelevant to

Wells Fargo new travel portal

Discussion / Conversation

Just wanted to flag that Wells Fargo has a new travel portal (https://travel.wellsfargotravel.com/). You might have seen indications in your statements about a changeover after July 1. I looked shortly after that but didn't notice a change. It appears from the verbiage on the new site that the changeover actually happened on July 8th.

The new portal is worlds better than the old one: JetBlue is bookable again, Delta basic fares are shown, it is more modern and easier to navigate, etc.

I haven't yet done a deep dive, but for people who still have a card that allows redemption at 1.5cpp through the portal, this is a great change, especially considering how useless the old portal had become.

Over the past few weeks (sorry - not sure if related to Chromium version, uBlock version, etc.): Websites like theverge.com are constantly loading. This doesn't seem to affect the displayed content, but it does mean the favicon is consistently a loading icon and there is a networking request that might be taking up a browser thread (?)

Anyway, going and looking at the networking requests when I visit theverge.com, I see the following never timing out:

chrome-extension://cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm/web_accessible_resources/amazon_apstag.js?secret=******

(Where ****** is a six character string that changes between requests.)

This does not seem like expected behavior. Is anyone else de

Moving into a house soon that has a relatively new boiler and water heater. When I first looked, I initially assumed they were completely separate but upon closer inspection, the "cold" water inlet is fed from a pipe (with a thermal expansion tank) that runs from the boiler.

Looking at the boiler, it takes cold water and runs through a section that says "tankless coil." It also sounds like the boiler is cycling on even though it is summer here (with no heating calls otherwise), and the "cold" pipe into the water heater storage tank is hot too.

The boiler is a Peerless WBV-e-03-WPCTL and the hot water storage tank is a AO Smith LTE-80D 200. Looking at the manual for the LTE-80D, it appears

T-Mobile is entirely inconsistent with their trade-in deadlines:

  1. During ordering, the actual trade-in agreement shows a date 30 days after the order date as the expiration date.

  2. T-Life shows the date of shipment + 30 days as the date by which the devices need to be sent in.

  3. The order status page shows, "Once your new device is delivered, you'll have 30 days to send your trade-in device." This is echoed in the support article: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/promo-trade-in where it states, "We know life happens, so you have 30 days from the time you receive your new device to send back your old one."

Three different dates: order date, shipment date, delivery date

It used to be that buying through Apple, there were specific Apple Retail promos that were separate from the promos that applied when purchasing through T-Mobile retail channels. I'm not sure I have seen any of these reflected on https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/promotional-offer-details. Also, the last phone I bought months ago through Apple had the normal T-Mobile promo attached, which surprised me.

This matters because:

  1. If the promos are no longer separate, there is a shared limit (4/account, etc.) between channels
  2. If no longer separate, buying through Apple should give the same promos even if Apple's website hasn't been updated yet - for example, for the recent Apple iPhone Promo w

Probably going to get hate from store reps, but I'm really impressed with the changes T-Mobile has made to its online ordering process. Compared to a few years ago, it is night and day: promotions are laid out clearly and there are multiple breakdowns showing exactly what is happening.

  • Promos are labelled and named explicitly.
  • Trade-in IMEIs are shown.
  • It is easy to upgrade a line and choose a different phone to trade-in than the one currently on that line, and the process even lets you choose a phone on a different line yourself (vs. having to type in its IMEI manually, though that is still an option).
  • Even the applied/eligible rebates are available to see.
  • Printing pages as PDFs

Merrill Lynch/Edge has apparently added passkey support, though I have seen scattered reports that it doesn't actually work... (merilledge.com/passkey)

Bank of America doesn't seem to have added support on their frontend yet though, but since the two are practically identical, I assume it is coming sooner rather than later.

As a reminder, many of the other huge banks have already added support in one form or another: Wells Fargo, Capital One, US Bank, (recently) Chase.
