I got a nice set of cast iron that I would like to use more, been mostly using stainless most of my life and non stick occasionally, got put off cast iron initially due to user error when cleaning that damaged my seasoning.

Ive seen it mentioned much on this sub but I’ve never used a chainmail scrubber.

I looked on amazon Canada to buy one thinking it would be straightforward but it seems most of the chain mail scrubbers on amazon.ca fall apart or are made of cheap materials and have lots of bad reviews.

Are there any specific brand/model chain mail scrubbers and cast iron cleaning tools y’all swear by and stand behind or any I should avoid at all costs?

Any help along my cast iron jour

I have some leftover cooked snow crab and king crab from the other night.

So we are thinking of having some today, I would love to know what would it be better way to reheat:

I was thinking to remove the shell and gently poach the meat on low in a beurre monte with old bay and roast garlic vs steaming it in the exoskeleton for 10 min?

What do yall think would be the best way to reheat crab and or lobster for best flavour and texture?

Sit to stand lift recommendations?

I’ve been looking to get a sit to stand lift for my father to help as a caregiver with my stepmother, but finding reviews or real world use data is quite difficult.

I’ve been looking at the hoyer journey.

But it’s twice the price of these other models close to $6k in Canada.

The f500s

PROTEKT STS COMPACT 500

Both of these are under $3k

Has anyone used these machines or can offer any recommendations?

As a hardcore O.G. fan of the Alien Franchise and someone who really enjoyed the direction and lore expansion of Prometheus.

Alien covenant did further expand a little bit on the lore with the black goo, but it was not enough to be considered a proper conclusion to the questions posited by its predecessor, the cheesy cliche of an ending left much to be desired and Danny McBrides out of place dialogue with the lack of memorable characters of the lesser cast outside of David really threw off the vibe.

A proper Prometheus 2 is a much needed addition to the franchise, my only issue with Prometheus is the illogical behavior of the “scientists” exploring an alien world without any caution, if t

Romulus vs Alien Earth:

Romulus was good in the sense of atmosphere, effects, themes and set design but it was pretty dull in the sense of charismatic charm, memorable characters and plot.

It was an enjoyable enough watch but most don’t feel the desire to rewatch it <dozens of times like the first 2 films.

It was a rehashing of a lot of the previously overused tropes in the alien franchise, but does it have the lasting power and impact of the original films? ..No

The legendary classic first film was a suspenseful and claustrophobic introduction to ripley, weyland yutani and the xenomorph.

The legendary classic second film was a continuation with the added action and drama of the space m

Has anyone smoked Pecorino Romano?

Or have tips on doing so?

I got a side smoker cabinet for my pellet grill that allows for cold smoking and thinking of giving it a go, was thinking of slicing the pecorino I have into 3 equal slices per kg for more surface area but I don’t know where to start which cheese.

Any wood flavor or temp/time suggestions?
