Background: I dont typically act as a GC. I'm a remodel contractor and I generally self-perform everything outside electrical and plumbing.
I had a larger renovation with a lot more drywall than I wanted to handle, so I called in a sub. I'm acquainted with the guy but hadn't seen his work before. His quote was decent and he was available so I hired him.
Upon drywall completion, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't paint-ready. We showed up to paint and instead I spent a short day doing drywall repair & touchup. 30+ screw heads, cracks, a little loose tape, over-cuts around outlets, sheets loose on the bottom, grooves from the corner taper, etc. I have a reputation for delivering high-quality

Can someone point me to a code reference for requirements of fire rating, i.e. drywall for a boiler room in a residential structure? I'm a Remodel contractor and a client is asking if there HAS to he drywall on the inside walls and ceiling of the boiler room which are currently open. There is drywall on the other side of the walls but exposed framing in the boiler room.

I'm a small owner-operator experiencing growing pains. I NEED office time to keep quotes & invoices flowing, but I don't have a crew that can work independently yet. Before I had kids, I did a lot of my book work on evenings and weekends. With kids that's a struggle now.
How did/do you handle your time management if you're the one doing bid work and also need to be on site?
Take off a day a week? A couple hours each day? How do you do it? Which is easier to hire, a foreman or a bidwriter?

I need some new rain pants for hunting that are durable and stay waterproof when beating through rain-soaked brush, thorns and briers constantly.

Most of the hunting pants I see are focused on light weight and breathability. I'm not concerned about that. I know how to handle condensation, I spent years commercial fishing in PVC. I'm not backpacking long distance.

I want something as tough as carhartt, waterproof as PVC, and as quiet as possible without sacrifice the first 2.

What are your suggestions?
