The title is pretty self explanatory.

let's assume that a god really does exist that gave us moral rules. Why ought I listen to said god?

P1: A perfect being by definition does not lack anything

P2: A being that lacks for nothing cannot have any desires

P3: For a being to intentionally create anything it must have a desire to create it

C: A perfect being cannot create anything

So I've been considering a festool router for a while now, primarily because it works with the festool tracks which I already have (and because the accessory kits are pretty sweet). The main thing I want it for is routing long dado's while building cabinets, but I worry that the OF 1010 might be a tad small/underpowered for routing 3/4" dado's all day. In the past I've just used my full size router with some nice veritas guide rails that I picked up, which works fine, but I think I could save a bit of time and hassle with the festool.

So I wanted to see if anyone here has one, and what they think. My main hesitation is that it only has a 1/4" and 8mm collets, so it will not hold a 1/2" bi

Pretty straight forward. Just curious if it's worth running an air filter on my compressor. My old boss used one fairly often, but not all the time. So I'm wondering how useful they are, and when I should use one.

I always thought it was a stereotype, but the last few years they have invaded my city (Ottawa) and are now all over the place running their scams (fake panhandling, fake violin playing in parking lots, selling fake gold on the side of the road, asking for donations to fake charities, etc.). They have been exposed on the news as a semi-organized ring of Roma people that shuffle around the city running these scams, and if you look it up these people are doing this all over the world (particularly bad in the UK, but all over the US as well).

Obligatory, not all Roma people are scammers, but a huge percentage of them are, and it's not racist to call them scumbag Gypsies when they are actively

Ok, so it's been over ten years since I finished my philosophy degree so I'm a little rusty, but I was thinking about this at work today and I wanted to run this by you all because I'm sure that I must be missing something.

Supposedly you cannot get an OUGHT from an IS, but I think you can get an OUGHT from an IF.

For example; IF you value living, you OUGHT not commit suicide

But then it occurred to me that if I use myself as the subject of the statement, I could reformulate it as such;

It IS a fact that I value living, therefore I OUGHT not commit suicide.

Anywho, that is all. I was hoping someone here could point out where I'm going wrong.
