Cuz anytime people complain about the modern batfamily- it always TOO BIG, ITS JUST TOO BIG!

but i feel there more larger and more accurate issues than it being "too big"

for me-

Alot of these characters don't really lives and stuff outside of Bruce and Batfamily. the loss of cilivan lives and civilian supproting casts has affected the batfamily way more than peope realize

also, for a group that is based on being a found family, it doesn't feel like a found family anymore. it feels like a franchise friendly strike force that pretends to a found family.

And also, there is no weight and history anymore....even now in the supposedly "EVERYTHING IS somehow CANON" policy dc h

cuz as of 2026, at this point- its very hard to criticize Damian especially how sadly it is to mock modern Tim ala nobody cares bout Tim Drake memes, alas seen by younger fans as the has been who calls himself from Red Robin and Drake.. cuz Damain went from hated disruption in 2006 to now in 2026, he is the franchise golden child, a Robin for a entire generation of fans, successful multi media configuration and if you dare to criticitze Damian, you get immediately accused of being a bitter Tim Fan

-but here my own current criticisms of Damian, that is completely independent of anything to do with Tim.

= Cuz his inherent status as son of Batman, cuz does kinda undercut the found fa

He is not yet uber infallible Jesus Yamato that people say he is Destiny

cuz In Seed, he does cry alot, is emotionally vunerable, makes mistakes and fails alot.

But my own personal issues with Kira in just SEED- is that

- his relationship with his adoptive parents is very underdeveloped, you would think they would matter more to kira life and character, especially after The Ultimate Coordinator revelation but not really

-his relationship with heliopolis social friend group is oddly underdeveloped outside of Flay. and most development they get is when Kira is MIA after the Strike Gundam is destroyed. Most of Kira important relationships is with flay, mu, athrun, cagali and rau

cuz its very OOC for Magneto to crash Illyana funeral like that considering Illyana was the New Mutant he bonded the closest

and I dunno, something about how Magneto is written in Fatal Attractions feels off compared to the last time Claremont wrote him in x-men vol 2. #1-3.

thoughts?

cuz Jubliee is often compared to Tim Drake in terms of being 90s junior sidekick characters of massive comic franchises of marvel and dc.

but Tim and Dick Grayson had a lot of interactions, even before Dick got re-claimed by the bat-office and was still a Titans character

but with Kitty and Jubilee...not much with a few exceptions like uncanny x-men #303 aka the issue with kid illyana death

Is it cuz Kitty was more tied to Excaliabur in the 90s when jubilee was in her peak exposure? is that the main reason why they never interact much.

Cuz if you look at the entire era of Golden Age of Superman- the whole champion of the oppressed outlaw proactive crusader lasted way more briefer than people think .

people blame the silver age for turning Superman into a fuddy duddy pro-establishment figure but i feel that already happened way before the silver age started

Cuz rewatching the high school era again, it seems like in the high school era, the everyday people of Sunnydale mattered more with buffy interacting and helping students and teachers that were outside the Scooby circle

-whether it's Dr Gregory in Teachers Pet

Willow and Cordelia discovering the bodies of the murdered a/v room students in Prophecy Girl

-the student body awarding buffy Class Protector in The Prom

Yeah, in the high school era, there seem to be a lived in social ecosystem where buffy helped out and interacted civilian non Scooby people

And after the high school era, it kinda fades away. Alot of it due to the college s

Cuz yes in the comics, Wolverine gets alot spotlight due to having his own solo and guest appearing in many non x-men books

But within the world of comic x-men- not really, i think. if anything, within the world of x-men- cyclops is more guilty of Big spotlight focus than logan. cuz alot of xmen comic mythos is driven by cyclops and the convoluted Summers Family Tree. which is ironic cuz cyclops gets dunked for being boring jerk who is overshadowed by wolverine.

if you look at the most iconic and beloved x-men stores- Dark Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, God Loves Man Kills, X-men #1 1991, Age of Apocalypse- alot of those stories don't have Wovlerine as the main driver

I dun

What I likes about the second half is a lot of the pieces start to come together, and the main 3 riders start to actually interact more. This also helps ryo alot as a character cuz my issue with ryou in the first half is Inoue puts him thru a repetitive cycle of misery and suffering, and also he felt disconnected from the rest of the cast. The second half while doesn't fully fix all the issues in ryo's writing, does have him interact with shouchi, mana, kino and the survivors of the Akatsuki incident. Also, episode 28 is a standout, and it's probably the best ryo episode ever, and it's only one not written by Inoue, but instead by Yasuko Kobayashi. EP 28 feels very showa rider esq

I will give agito this- its inoue most intricately plotted show, but that is also a downside- due it being so plot driven, that i feel it both drags the pacing, and undercuts inoue natural strength of character dynamics/& the story being driven by those character interactions

it feels like 3 kamen rider shows squeezed into one- and that's both a impressive ambitious feat and a big structural flaw- cuz the show is juggling with alot,

-Shouchi's amnesia and search to regain his memories

-Mana's psychic powers

-All of the police investigation/g3 unit stuff with hikawa, ozawa, and hojo

- Ryo's body horror struggles with his Gils form

- the mystery behind the Unknowns, the Overlord

on my jetman watch so far

I wonder if there is a big difference between the Sentai Inoue and Rider Inoue. Cuz going from Faiz and Agito to Jetman feels like a whiplash. half of the time jetman feels like a sitcom, atop of the J Drama elements. sure faiz and agito had their moments of levity but those moments feel subdued to the humor or Jetman

Thoughts? is it just me? Am i Only who feel this way?

from what ive been web browsing in the net, Zoe is a kinda of a divisive character. i mean, people dunk on Bruno(mainly for the will they won't they dynamic with Kamala) but people know where they stand on Bruno and Nakia is generally well liked overall.

cuz some people critique how her redemption arc in GWW run was handled, some say it does come across as a "white girl apologizing for her racism", - is this fair criticism or not? also doesn't help Saladin sort of ruins this development with that traitor arc at his run during outlawed. for me, I just feel its inherently OOC cuz why would she betray the person who once saved her life, to the point zoe even dressed up as Ms. Marvel during th

-cuz it also important,

-cuz its one of the reasons why direct market became a promient thing in the 80s

-also, it was a time of DC Implosion

-and for marvel, its only getting the star wars license is why Marvel was able to stay afloat

and for non superhero genre comics like horror or war comics- the late 70s crash was just as detrimental or arguably more than the comics Code

but its oddly never talked about as much as the late 90s Crash.

Cuz there r so many repetitive fights in fake Karakura town. Alot of these fights don't really add anything narratively. Also, this is the nadir of fake out deaths in the series cuz there is a lot of characters in this section that should've died for real

Also, it's hard to top the narrative high of the Ulquiorra dome fight. I feel for me, the Ulquiorra dome fight is the high point of the Arrancar Saga.

At least with fake Karakura town, I can kinda understand the meme and criticism of "fell off after soul society" cuz it's must have a unfun experience to read it back when it coming out week to week. And it's must be more painful in the og anime cuz of padding

cuz spider-man adapations focusing teen peter is way more recent that people think. cuz for a long time, spider-man adapations usuallly had college peter or older.

-the 60s cartoon, the 80s cartoon, spider-man and his amazing friends, the 90s cartoon, and even if the raimi trilogy started in high school, it moved to college and adulthood pretty quicky.

but starting around spec cartoon, you started to see more and more high school peter adapations - and I wonder if the success of bendis ultimate spider-man had something to do with that

Thoughts?

Just fyi- this doesn't mean I hate bendis usm, i love bendis usm, but i notice a shift after USM became really big.
