I’m new to bra making. I’m working on making bras for myself, but need cheap materials while I perfect fit with different patterns. What’s the most cost effective way to do this?
Happy to order online in bulk or need guidance on purchasing in person (NYC).
I took a trip to the garment district earlier this week but the names of fabrics from the online bra shops are different from what’s available in person. For example, I bought what I thought would be equivalent to cup lining at B&J fabrics but I think they cut something different from the nylon tricot I picked and it actually has stretch. I’m new to bra making and feel totally lost. For example, I can’t find duoplex but perhaps I could
I'm a current Host Mom considering becoming an LCC in my area, but I've seen comments online about it being very low pay.
I'm currently building my own business and not really looking for a full time gig, so something part time seems awesome. But I'm trying to evaluate the time commitment vs pay and figure out if it is at all worth my time. I don't really need the money but I also don't want to donate my time to a for profit organization.
Curious if anyone has insight on the specifics of the compensation structure.
My baby was born at 37 weeks via C-section. He was super sleepy at first and wasn’t gaining weight, so on our pediatrician’s advice, we started triple feeding. Thankfully, he got back up to birth weight and is now tracking along his growth curve.
I’m working with an IBCLC and have transitioned to alternating feeding sessions—first I nurse, and then when he shows hunger cues again, I pump and bottle feed. His transfer at the breast is still pretty poor. He falls asleep even with switch nursing, breast compressions, diaper changes, tickling his feet—you name it.
At a recent weighted feed, he happened to be wide awake and took in 2 oz, which is the best he’s ever done. Most of the time, it’s
Ugh, another AC question — but I swear I searched the sub and didn’t find the answer.
I have a scheduled c section coming up at Alexandra Cohen. I would love to hear about others’ experiences to help calm my nerves.
What happens upon check in to L&D? Where do we keep our stuff while in the OR? When can my husband be with me/not? Will I be able to BF in the OR?
Any tips or tricks for pre/during/post surgery that I should keep in mind? Anything you wish you had known ahead of time?
I went out for hot pot last night, and when my 1 hour timer went off I was still actively eating.
I wasn’t sure what to do — I ended up testing again in another hour. Both numbers were in range.
I’m curious how others would handle the same situation
I have COVID, and so far, I'm the only person testing positive in the household. My spouse is taking care of our 13 month old and I'm isolating in the bedroom.
Though the separation from my child is very emotionally difficult for me, I really don't want my child to get sick.
What does the science say about when it is safe to stop isolating?
When is the best time to be born for 3k maximization? I am TTC and unfortunately doing IVF so I can try to influence due date timing. Is a birthday early in the year better?
Night pumping gives me flexibility for my husband to give a middle of the night bottle/milk for our caregiver to give him a bottle during so I’m not tethered to the house and have more freedom during the day to do stuff like go to the gym. But… I flipping hate it.
What would be the impact if he just got formula for one bottle a day instead?
I had a night pumping related crying session last night and I don’t know if I can keep it up. At one year, my plan is to continue to nurse in the morning/at night but to discontinue pumping and give cows milk at other times. I feel like I only have 2 months left until 1 year and I should just power through… but idk if I can do it. I only have 11 bags o
Looking for muslin for garment making. The stuff for toiles, NOT the textured double gauze that’s also referred to as muslin.
I used to get it at Fulton Fabrics in BK but they’ve now closed. I usually buy it at SIL but it seems like the prices went up significantly recently.
What’s the best place to source it at the best value?
I work for a large corporation in an office environment.
I’ve recently gone back to work and am pumping while I’m away from baby. It usually takes me about 40 minutes from the time I leave my desk to get back. Is this a crazy amount of time to be away from my computer three times a day?
Here’s my routine: -go to pumping room on a different floor (5 mins) -set up: grab parts from the fridge, assemble, connect tubing, situate my clothing/bra(5 mins) -pump (~20 mins) -break down: log amounts in app, get dressed, decant milk into ceres chill, put parts away for fridge trick, clean up room/area (5 mins) -return to desk (5 mins)
If it’s at lunch then I stop by the cafeteria to pick up somethi
I’m redoing the kitchen and have selected a Cambria Quartz countertop. I’ve gotten two quotes for it that are around $6k/slab installed.
Is there a vendor you’d recommend that can save me a bit of money?
If this is the going rate… that’s fine. But at this point it seems like a commodity product I could get from anywhere.
