This started happening about 2-3 weeks ago, now whenever I say “hey siri” it always defaults to my phone, even when I’m right next to a HomePod. I can turn the phone upside down, stop Siri after it’s been triggered, cover the microphone - no matter what I do it always hijacks the HomePod if my phone is in listening distance. I don’t know who at Apple decided this was a good idea.

I looked through settings, Home, etc. and all I could figure out was to change the wake word on my phone to only listen for “hey siri” and just say “Siri” for the HomePod - but this is not desirable. Has anyone figured out a way to fix this?

Got a 2005 DRC GC for valentine's day because the wife's been going on about it forever. I'm not a huge Burgundy person so I might be biased, but the experience was entirely underwhelming. Don't get me wrong it's a great wine, but I just don't think it lives up to the hype. I might be in the minority here that I actually much preferred GPT-5's tone at launch. I don't want these things to sound human and repeatedly glaze me, I just want them to do what I say. The biggest improvement for GPT-5 was removing the "Great question! This shows how insightful and brave you are... etc." BS as that really bothers me - which now I can no longer get away from. Very unhappy today as I woke up to an email saying my self-hosted Bitwarden license was cut off since my payment method expired.

It was when I went to log into the Bitwarden cloud portal (different logins) that I realized TOTP generation was locked behind the "Premium" paywall. To log in to the cloud portal I had to get my TOTP token from the login entry and put it into a separate auth app so it could generate the codes, and then I had to do the same thing to get into Paypal. Although I understand why they do this, it seems to me in extremely poor taste as 2FA is so critical nowadays.

Most of what was memorable about her to me is from the latter books, but after reading Ch14 again it somehow bothered me much more than it did as a kid. I've been using X, LightDM, and Awesome for a long time now on my desktop. I recently installed Asahi with Hyprland on my Mac and I'm liking it a lot more. Got some free time coming up and wanted to reconfigure my desktop with my new workflow changes.
