Capsule is a cross-platform open source app for capturing and compressing media files. I originally came up with the idea because I wanted it to be easier to add more images/videos/voice memos to my Obsidian vault without inflating the vault size.
The interface is inspired by squoosh.app which I've loved for several years for compressing images but wished there existed something similar for other media files. I've always felt frustrated with the complexity of compression tools like ffmpeg CLI or HandBrake when I wanted something quick and simple without having to Google how to use it.

The MEGA VPN desktop app on Windows 11 is stuck on login: https://imgur.com/a/FYBwZIw
After I type my credentials, it is perpetually stuck on this loading screen. This is a nearly fresh install of Windows 11. I've tried various combinations of reinstalling, restarting my computer, and deleting AppData, but it continues to do this. Is it working for anyone?
I'm looking into screen printing as a way of making labels for polypropylene lip balm tubes, but am having trouble finding what kind of ink would be good to start/experiment with. I have seen this from Nazdar but it's over $80 for the cheapest option, and I'm wondering how necessary it is to buy a specific ink for a specific material for the sake of adhesion and durability.
Are there any techniques or additives with plastisol or water-based ink to increase usability with plastics? Or any other pointers anyone can give for figuring this out?
I've been contemplating this for a while. I want to make desktop and mobile apps, and Flutter/Dart seems like a solid choice for both, but I know both are also possible with web technologies which I currently specialize in (as long as I can accept some drawbacks).
Reasons to lean towards Flutter:
- Uses less RAM on desktop (versus Electron)
- Apps open faster on desktop (v. Electron)
- From a more established company with more guaranteed long-term support than the web frameworks that solve the above problems (like Tauri and Webview)
- May be a ubiquitous GUI toolkit someday ([my alarm clock behind me is using Flutter](https://docs
I'm 22 years old and started having chronic heartburn and ulcers at 19. It took me these few years to get the confidence to tackle this issue on my own, against my doctor's protocols, but I am very glad I did. I had always seen my problems as mysterious medical ailments that only my doctors had the power to understand, but eventually I realized my doctors were just covering up my symptoms with medication instead of inquiring to find the root problem.

- My doctors determined that an h. pylori infection was the "root cause" of my acid reflux and ulcers, but the majority of people actually have some h. pylor
My internet went out and I happened to notice this at the top of my Notion window, and I got curious. Started investigating and found I was able to navigate my whole Notion library and create new notes, and even tried restarting my computer while still offline, and everything was still there. I don't think this has been announced, and i haven't seen any other reddit threads talking about it.
The number "You have x edits" doesn't increase when I make edits though, and I can't attach pictures, so it seems like a beta testing thing, but still pretty co
This is something I've been wondering about for a while, since SSD prices are much lower now, and they guarantee a certain number of TBW. Here's my current scenario:
2TB Samsung 860 QVO: $200, 720 TBW Warranty (30TBW per year makes it last 24 years)
2TB Seagate Firecuda: $80, ??? TBW (Might last 5 years)
The SSD costs a little more than 2 times the HDD, but will probably survive longer than 3 or 4 times the HDD, so maybe this means longevity alone makes the SSD a better deal. Anyone know of any additional factors that I'm not taking into account?
Has anyone else had this issue? Every time I save my go file, some random pieces of my code get deleted. I tried reinstalling vscode and following all the recommended prompts to install and update packages. This doesn't happen on a fresh install, only after installing the recommended packages. I think it's some kind of "prettifying" algorithm being applied but its bugged to hell. Not sure what to do
If an SSD (looking at the 860 EVO) gives a warranty of "5 years or 600 TBW", can I trust the SSD to write 600TB before dying? or are there other factors that might make it die sooner?
For example, if I write 10TB per year to the drive, should it last 60 years? assuming I take physical care of it

The pulley also seems to get stuck and make rubbing noises when turning sharply while the car is parked. The noises are less severe when the car is moving.
I just flushed the power steering fluid and added new fluid plus some "Bar's Leaks" power steering repair fluid, but now the issue is worse than before. Maybe the pump needs to be replaced, and/or the belt and pulley? Advice appreciated
