Hey there. I just got a Dell U2722DE along with a couple of Dell MSA20 arms (one for my old monitor too). So I proceeded to unbox the monitor, and at first didn't even bother with the included stand - instead I went with the MSA20 directly. I got the upper part of the arm, aligned the teeth at the upper edge of the plate and I pressed the lower part so it locks in. It clicked in, but I immediately noticed that it's not actually locked - I could just lift the lower part and it would come off without me needing to press the unlock button, which is really weird. I tried the same thing with the other arm and it was the same story. At the same time the included stand works properly - it locks in,

Hey.

Just want to share something that happened to me recently. I have a DS918+ running DSM 7.1. I have Active Backup for Business set up for a weekly backup of my system partition, keeping last two versions - nothing special. I recently updated the ABB server app. I don't even remember whether it was an auto update or whether I updated it manually. What happened is that, since there was an incompatibility between the server and the client, my client didn't get automatically updated, there wasn't the usual option to command an update of it through the server either, and it wasn't obvious that there's a new version before I went to the website and saw it there. So my backups started failing

Hey there.

My hardware is as follows:

  • Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
  • Ryzen 9 5900X, Noctua NH-U14S
  • 2x16 GiB G-Skill Ripjaws V 3600C14 b-die
  • Asus X Noctua RTX 3070
  • Corsair MP600, Samsung MZ7LN512HAJQ, a bunch of other drives
  • Seasonic SS860XP2

OS is either the latest Windows 11 Dev build (on the Corsair) or Pop!_OS 21.10 (on the Samsung).

The problem seems to have started yesterday out of nowhere. No recent hardware change. Side note - I got this GPU a month ago and had a mishap once shortly after I got it - it seems to have slipped out of the slot because of how heavy it is - probably because the support bracket was loose - and I found my PC turned off after leaving it sleep.

SOLVED. See this comment.

Hey.

This problem seems to have started a few days ago. The NAS is a DS918+ running 7.0-41890. The problem is that DSM is only accessible shortly after a reboot; after booting (the last few times preceded by sudo reboot through SSH) and first letting me log in, the web interface only works for about 5 minutes and then stops responding completely (and Synology Assistant - web and desktop - stop finding the NAS; DS Finder on my phone fails to find it too). Everything else seems to be working properly at

Hey. I've been trying to have a bunch of tasks get triggered by my morning alarms. I'm using a Pixel 4a (5G) running the latest stock Android 11 (rooted) and the latest Google Clock (com.google.android.deskclock). I usually have a bunch of alarms with labels, so first I tried adding the labels to the events too, then also tried removing the labels from both the alarms and the events - neither of these works. I tried all the different alarm-related events in Tasker and none of them seems to work. Is this a bug, or am I missing something? Do I need to have another context for the profile to become active, or is just Alarm Clock/Alarm Done by itself enough? As suggested by other threads,

Hey there.

I think I've noticed this before, so it might be an older bug. It's basically that Boost displays a different thing compared to the desktop site of reddit.

Let's say you have a comment with the following content:

*\* something \**

... with the intention of having the outer asterisks acting as delimiters for everything that should be in italic, and the inner ones being escaped with a backslash so that they're treated as literal text.

Here's how a similar comment looks like on the desktop site: https://i.imgur.com/AY9eEXQ.png

Here's how it looks in Boost: https://i.imgur.com/wH99W58.png

Over and over again I see people complain about issues related to this. I've posted this as a comment multiple times, but I figure it will be more useful if I just write a post and link to it.

With an Nvidia GPU, go to the Nvidia Control Panel, from there go to 3D Settings -> Manage 3D settings -> Program Settings, select Lightroom (add the executable if needed), scroll down and for Power management mode select Prefer maximum performance. There should be an equivalent setting for AMD GPUs, but I don't have one at hand, so I'd appreciate if anyone tips me the exact setting for me to add it here.

I've found this to have a significant impact on how smooth Lightroom feels. The rati

Hey. I'm looking at building a custom bike. I'm not a complete beginner, I've been riding for some time. I was advised to post a separate thread. What I've been riding until now is a complete with a 21" TT and a 13.2" chainstay. I feel like the front end is just a bit too crammed (since I'm rather tall - 190 cm or almost 6' 3") - I don't know if I'm shorter now than when I started or if I just have gotten used to the bike, but I think I want to go with a slightly longer front.

I'm looking to get a frame with a shorter rear end (like 12.8 - 13.0") and a longer top tube (something like 21.25"). I basically want a bike that spins a bit easier than my current one and yet has a bit more space in

Oftentimes I'm using Sesame without even typing anything, just relying on the 5-10 most recently launched items. Sometimes I'm looking for a name in my contacts which I might not even call, but after I've searched for it, it will stay in the recent items (until other items push it back in the queue). It would be nice to be able to remove such instances without resetting everything.

As picky as this might sound to some of you, the fact that the app is hardcoded to use US locale does create some confusion. I'm used to the EU format (DD/MM/YYYY) and I've set my Windows to be that way and yet GeForce Experience shows the latest driver to be from 10/07/2020, which is ambiguous and could be interpreted as both 10th of July and 7th of October for this date in particular. I know I'm not alone since I read a forum post in the lines of "is it normal for my driver to be 3 months old?".

Hey everyone. Misfortune brought me here - my Sabertooth X99 motherboard kicked the bucket and is currently at a service centre being looked at. It would be nice if it could be brought back to life so that it can be useful for another month or two until Ryzen 5000 launches (so I can get a 5900X or even a 5950X with a proper X670 board), but I'm not holding my hopes too high, so I'm thinking of a new CPU + motherboard + RAM now. It would be unfortunate that I'd miss the new features of X670, but it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to swap a motherboard later on if I decide so. They'll be announcing it in about a week from now, but I don't know how well things are going to be with availability

Hey there.

I've been using ABB for some time now; I've set it to back up my Windows 10 system partition once a week and to keep the last four copies of it. I've been generally very happy with it in terms of how transparent everything is once it's set up and how fast it is. So far so good.

(Haven't had the need to restore from it yet, but I feel that if that happens, it will be just as straightforward as it is for the backup itself).

Unrelated, but it made me realise what's happening - I recently added a new SSD and cloned over my old system partition to it - I used CloneZilla and I initially only cloned C:\, then, when it didn't boot, I realised I had to copy the hidden partitions from t

Hey there. I just ordered a DS918+ and I should have it within a few days along with a WD Ultrastar HC530 14 TB drive and an APC Back-UPS 700VA. I'll also be adding one existing HDD. My use case is basically the following:

  • storing media (music and movies) in order to move a few HDDs out of my desktop to reduce noise (or rather move noise to another location :D )
  • local backup of RAW files
  • trying out hosting (small personal website) before I commit to a dedicated service
  • torrents
  • file sharing to the outside world
  • incremental system backups of my Windows machine, maybe twice a month

I was also considering the DS1019+, but decided to test the waters with something smaller (to see
